People could login using atproto before. Now web users can join the party. Users may link an existing atproto account, or have us manage one for them until they are ready to take over control.
New territory for us, so feedback is very welcome.

Communities shouldn't pay rent to Big Tech. Open source meetups built on AT Protocol. Free to create events, free to build communities, free forever. - https://openmeet.net - https://github.com/OpenMeet-Team

Yesterday we launched a new feature and now our existing web users can bring their own DID or we can be a temporary custodian of a new identity. Either way, now every user's PDS is the source of truth for public events and rsvps.

The other probably didn't have that second toggle set, which sounds like a UX bug to me. It defaults to off, but it should probably default on
We want to meet folks where they are, and right now, that's still email for many.
Do you have a list of things you're looking for? Would love to see it and put gaps on the roadmap.
Event and RSVP data lives on PDS (except when there's bugs). Groups are still in the works. For non-at users, that data lives in our community instance db.
12.01.2026 19:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oh... that could be a bug or just bad UX, but let's figure it out.
- In settings, turn "use atproto as event source" ON.
- create a new event: toggle ON "publish to atproto".
Then the event will show in the PDS or its a bug.
I don't remember why we added the second toggle. Designers HALP me!
@brian.buller.cc and @seth.computer Thanks for trying out OpenMeet! If there's anything we can help with, or if you want to let us know what you think -- file issues or ping us in discord from github.com/OpenMeet-Team

How does one edit a listing? I run a project in the coming soon section, but it's been open for awhile, and the listing could use an update in general.

#ATprotocol users can use PDS storage for public events or our storage for private events. Other forms of login keep the data internally.
Groups aren't hooked into ATproto yet, just the event posting. RSVPs are 50% complete.
Thanks for the input. How important is this for you? Is it a common use case?
If you don't provide an email at login, then we'd prompt for one. I just need to go figure out how to do opt-in or out for oauth scopes.
Might take me a couple of weeks to get to it unless you tell me it's urgent.
I recently moved away from having folks enter an email address and started pulling email to save a step on entry.
Would having a primary/secondary email fulfill your needs, or is it important to not use your bsky email?
