Yet, I could not hate them. I understand misery-- the one that clings to me. They make sure I'm never alone. They give me things to think about. Someone who feels what I feel. In the end it's truly hard to hate misery. But why?

Maybe because they're the one thing consistent in my life. Despite embracing misery, I hope that they one day...do right by me too.

Maybe I love misery. Because I'm tired of trying to be better. It feels like if I get out of bed, I'll drown in remnants of my own sorrow.

So, I'm down again-- hoping that drowning is not my fate. I avoid lifting my head. Not all the time though. Because sometimes, When I get up-- I see stars. They're my favourite shape. The only good i gain.

I'm not a selfish person. I share my stars with misery. I've heard that they appreciate the company.

As do I. But on occasion, they revive bad habits. Perhaps they don't know better. They believe the temporary relief ks worth it. If it's not snapping at myself, they provoke me to snap at others. Even those I love.
