Love this. I spend a lot of time looking at old newspapers and other historical documents. That old adage of knowing history so you don't repeat it is just fantasy. Some universal human traits are revealed by studying these documents. Including, apparently, blaming the new thing for everything.

Starting up networking calls for pro-public schools School Director candidates (or those working to recruit them) in Allegheny County- zooms this Sunday afternoon & evening on December 5th. Know anyone that should be invited?

I'm not specifically recruiting them, but, as in the past, our Swissvale group will be hosting some "how to run for local office" events in Jan/Feb and beyond. some info sessions, possibly some meet and greets or forums. Interested in connecting with potential woodland hills SB candidates.

The problem is, the people voted for the leopards to eat their kids’ faces. Kids who deserve better than a government actively trying sabotage their futures.

I've done pgh to DC and back in the last few years, and to NYC longer ago. Always enjoyable. Love the Amtrak experience - comfortable, relaxing esp on the DC trip with the viewing car. Delays can suck so plan extra time. The time it takes can seem not worth it, sadly. I'd do it more if it was.

And retail - that's probably even more common. Hard to have that physical space camaraderie in the same way when everyone is on different schedules, maybe. But I do think something like this would be so good for our world right now.

I wonder what an equivalent to "working man's club" would be. Like, a service industry workers club? There was a certain amount of pride and camaraderie amongst industrial workers you don't see in some of the most common and low paid jobs now.

I like this. A Swissvale group has been forming a social club l, but it's not quite the same.
