The stories do inhabit the world and many get to the heart of the prevalent themes in The Stand quite well. YMMV, of course!

#NowWatching John Carpenter’s ridiculously preposterous yet endlessly watchable PRINCE OF DARKNESS. Come for the laughable exposition, stay for the moody soundtrack and Donald Pleasence Donald Pleasence-ing all over the place. Jameson Parker’s moustache is also worth the watch. WONDERFUL!

This book is a jet-black 1975 Plymouth Duster with a 360 V8 and a 4-barrel carb gunning in your TBR pile, just waiting for you ease into the driver’s seat and lay tracks into the night. Could not put it down! Greasy, bleak, and fevered, but somehow also wears its heart on its sleeve.

Almost 3 years ago, I decided to get back into reading on a regular basis and resolved to read every day for a month. I just cracked 1,000 consecutive days and more than 270 books and novellas read since that resolution.
I don’t normally make a fuss but I am really proud of myself!
