I am not sure how to do this anymore. I mean, it is as though all we were taught it a lie.

I am wondering what I am teaching my son - at 10yrs old - how to fight for freedom. How to care for neighbor. How to disagree but still see the other as a human.

I remember being taught to be proud of our nation.

I remember being told that our democracy was a beacon for other nations.

I remember learning that our elected officials represented us.

I remember learning in school about the 3 branches of government.

This is NOT who America is…we do not leave care of all, especially those who are poor, sick, or face tragedy to churches & non-profits. Yes, the church will cont. to be there to support, assist, & live our call, but the United States of America & the government institution that we have a call too.
