Game developers need to get comfortable with giving players breaks, in Morrowind there's several points where the main story just stops for a bit and the npcs tell you to go do something else for a while.

Sometimes I get into a bit of a spiral when I'm not good at something, and it hits me just how easy it would be to be successful if I was evil.
