And here’s a stack of HST off-cuts from a Picket quilt I’ve almost finished. It’s a Robin Pickens pattern using the Kaffe x Morris Free Spirit line & Bella solids. The Daylesford calls for 9-patches w 1.5 strips but I’ll use these HSTs instead for that panel.

I like how these scrappy projects create a snapshot of my creative/ design aesthetic in a certain point in time. Here’s part of a Tula Pink scrap medallion from earlier this year.

Scrap management… I’ve starting making “companion quilts” to use up scraps from current/recent projects. I often like them better than the original! I started a Daylesford medallion-inspired quilt yesterday. It’s based on a Jen Kingwell “Quilt Recipe”, but I’m taking many liberties. #QuiltSky

Why? More like how: by deploying troops to American cities and turning ICE into the 7th largest military in the world. Why does ICE need missiles? Why are choppers flying over my head while I’m at the dog park (in Portland, OR)?

At one point, I commented to my friend that this is what every peace rally I’ve ever been to has been like: lots of older people and families, but the media never shows them.

But, truly, the joy and feeling of “Life is Beautiful” was so much greater than ever before.
