Seriously, there is a good market for this stuff, especially with how kids often feel. While Nordic kid's stuff, like some of the Casper and Emma movies seemingly do stuff like that, it doesn't feel nearly as strong to me; too childish, mainly.

Please make more of these, people.

I think "Casper and Emma's Wonderful Christmas" (a Norwegian kid's movie) has a problem with single parenthood.

In sixth grade, I watched the 1925 version of Ben-Hur. I even referenced it in class once as 'a movie about [the time] before Jesus was born'.

This gives me the theory that the Japanese respect foregin works more than their own.

Every anime adapation of foregin works that I've seen (World Masterpiece Theater, the nineties Moomin anime, Secret of Cerluean Sand, et al) are well-written, decently acted and doesn't have overbearing sounds or visual styles.

Now, compare that to most other anime, who are the opposite.
