3 page fancomic for luffy and law from one piece. it takes place in a modern au where law is a coroner and luffy is a forensic entomologist. page 1. panel 1: law is at her desk, anxiously waiting as she dials a number and waits for the phone to ring. she grumbles, "come on, come on," casting a glance back at a corpse surrounded by bugs. panel 2: she's sweating slightly as the person on the other end of the line answers, "hello, you've reached the office of monkey d. forensics." panel 3: the voice calls to mind the image of an anteater, for some reason. law blandly replies, "this is trafalgar from the coroner's office. is luffy available?" panel 4: a close-up of law's office phone. the person on the other end asks, "trafalgar???" completely puzzled by the name.

page 2. panel 1-4: multiple panels of law, her fist balled on her desk. with each passing moment, her frown and blush deepen, until she sighs and tries, "torao?" the other person gasps in instant recognition, "oh! TORAO!" panel 5: it turns out that it's usopp on the other end. he grins smugly and tells law, "yeah, luffy's AVAILABLE," with extra emphasis on the final word. panel 6: usopp says, "please hold," before stage-whispering, "psst! it's HER!" to luffy. luffy stands up quickly, grinning brightly with excitement. panel 7: luffy slams into usopp's desk, grabbing the phone with a loud, "torao!" as usopp flails and falls behind her.

page 3. panel 1: over the phone, law shouts, "i need you!" luffy's face lights up with shock and a blush. usopp's hand twitches from his place on the floor. panel 2: an embarrassed law clarifies, "uh. need your help, i mean," as she rubs the back of her neck with a hand. panel 3: luffy is still grinning as she excitedly asks, "oh, um, what can i do?" usopp flashes her a supportive thumbs-up. panel 4: law grumbles, "BUGS. i've got a body here crawling with way more than i'm equipped to deal with." panel 5: the background is completely dark as luffy's face drops into pure frustration and disappointment. she mumbles, "oh." as she realizes law has called for help with work stuff.

Eight-page One Piece fancomic, Pre and Post Dressrosa PAGE 1 [Panel 1] At night, before a bright full moon, Law stands at the railing of the Thousand Sunny, looking out over the sea with his back to the viewer. [Panel 2] Luffy approaches Law from behind, his back also to the viewer. Law hears him coming and, without looking back at Luffy, says, “You should be sleeping.” [Panel 3] Luffy steps up behind him, leaning playfully to the side with his arms folded behind his back, and says, “And you should be too, Torao.” Law continues to look out over the sea. [Panel 4] Luffy leans against the railing, his hair and face glowing a little in the moonlight as he says, “You’re always out here thinking too hard.” [Panel 5] The angle changes, so the viewer sees both Law and Luffy’s back and the huge, full moon glowing between them. Law has turned his head subtly towards Luffy, and Luffy asks, “What’cha thinking about?”

PAGE 2 [Panel 1] The panel shows a close up of Law’s hand, his arms folded across his chest and the tattoos across one hand clear in the moonlight. His face can’t be seen as he says, “You.” Luffy, from off panel, asks, “Oh?” He laughs. “Shi shi shi. What about me?” [Panel 2] Law’s hand tightens on his sleeve as he answers, “You. What you mean to me.” [Panel 3] Luffy in profile, alone in the panel, casts a sidelong look. He doesn’t say anything, but he looks contemplative. [Panel 4] The viewer sees Law and Luffy face-forward for the first time, both of them washed in bright moonlight. Law, with his arms still crossed and his head turned away from Luffy, seems uncomfortable with the direction the conversation has taken as he asks, “What does this alliance mean for you?” Luffy, with his arms crossed on the railing, asks, “What do you mean ‘what does it mean?’” [Panel 5] An establishing shot showing the rigging of the Sunny. Luffy, off-panel, says, “It means we’re gonna take down Mingo.” [Panel 6] Another establishing shot, this one showing the tree and swing on the lawn of the sunny. Luffy, still off-panel, says, “And after that, Kaido.” [Panel 7] The viewer sees Law and Luffy against the railing again. Law has uncrossed his arms, but he’s still looking away from Luffy while Luffy leans toward him and grasps Law’s forearm with firm confidence as he says, “Whatever you need, Torao. We’ll do it together.”

PAGE 3 [Panel 1] Law, facing the camera, looks somewhat uncomfortably as he looks down at Luffy’s hand which is still gripping his arm. [Panel 2] Law raises his eyes to look straight at Luffy (which, in this panel, is also straight at the viewer) as he asks, “And what if I need you for more than just fighting?” [Panel 3] The view changes to a wider view of the deck, with Law and Luffy connected by Luffy’s hand still on Law’s arm and the full moon in the distance framed perfectly between them. Luffy answers, “Then I’ll fight whatever Torao needs. Even himself.” Law protests, “You make it sound simple.” But Luffy assures him, “It is simple. You’re my friend, Torao. And I’m always gonna be here for you.” [Panel 4] Luffy moves closer to Law and now holds both of his forearms. He’s looking up at Law with a serious, determined expression. Law, now obscuring part of the moon, says, “I… I don’t want you to just be here for me. Not just as… a friend.” [Panel 5] A close-up of Law’s eyes. His expression looks hard, serious. Off-panel, Luffy says, “Torao… if you need something more, then tell me. I’ll figure it out.” [Panel 6] A close-up of Luffy’s eyes. He also looks serious, his brow furrowed. Off-panel, Law says, “You can’t just--you don’t understand.” [Panel 7] A close up of Law and Luffy in profile, their faces close together but their height difference pronounced. Luffy says, “Then make me understand.”

PAGE 4 [Panel 1] The camera turns to show Law’s back. His shoulders are hunched, his arms bent, and though his head is mostly obscuring Luffy’s, it’s obvious that Law has kissed Luffy. Luffy’s hands hover just over Law’s waist, his fingers splayed apart--he’s surprised by the kiss, and his body hasn’t reacted just yet. In the background, the full moon casts a bright reflection on the sea below and the two captains. [Panel 2] A close-up of Luffy’s left hand, moving as though to touch Law’s waist. [Panel 3] A close-up of Law’s right eye, closed tightly. [Panel 4] A close-up of Law’s right eye, opening wide--he’s realized what he’s just done. [Panel 5] Law and Luffy in profile, now with space between them because Law has retreated quickly. His body language is tight and awkward, his shoulders pulled up to his ears and his eyes wide as he stammers, “I-I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have--that was--“ Luffy looks surprised, but before he can respond, Law says, “Shambles,” and the page fades to black.

page 2. panel 1: law arrives in the main room of his submarine with a pop. he is immediately displeased. hakugan and ikkaku are standing there, seemingly shocked by the same thing that law sees. panel 2: penguin and uni are also frozen, still half in battle stances. panel 3: a grinning monkey d luffy gives them all a wave. he says, “traffy! hey!” panel 4: law looks flatly at him. he says, “straw—“ before cutting himself off and trying again, “luffy-ya, would it kill you to call ahead?” panel 5: luffy crowds up in law’s face, forcing him to lean away. luffy holds up a vivre card scrap labeled with bepo’s name, saying, “you gotta come with me! i’m gonna fight this big monster. it’ll be an adventure!”

page 3. panel 1: law crosses his arms and looks away, insisting, “absolutely NOT. we aren’t anchored here for fun.” penguin and shachi stand suspiciously behind him as luffy groans, “aw…” from off-screen. panel 2: law continues, “i have several things…” before cutting off with an “oof” as penguin and shachi shove him forward. panel 3: they insist, “come on, captain! we can handle it!” and luffy cheers. law glares menacingly back at them, radiating a dark aura of fury. panel 4: a close up of luffy grabbing law’s wrist as he says, “let’s go!” panel 5: law looks down, a blush on his cheeks. he starts to say, “luffy-ya…” panel 6: he abruptly finishes, “what the hell is that.” as he points down at a hardly sea-worthy dinghy that luffy has poorly lashed to the tang’s railing. luffy whistles innocently.

page 4. panel 1: law sits in the front of the dinghy, legs and arms crossed primly and an oar across his lap. luffy stands behind him, waving goodbye to law’s crew. panel 2: through pictograms, law asks if luffy has a map for this adventure. luffy smiles his best head empty smile and shrugs. panel 3: law asks about food for the trip, and luffy points grouchily to his mouth, indicating that he’s eaten everything he brought. panel 4: furious, law grabs luffy by the collar of his coat, and luffy leans in too, both of them yelling at each other. panel 5: they freeze, argument forgotten, as a leak springs in the bottom of the boat.

one piece fancomic. panel 1: a marine nervously marches up to a group of his subordinates. he yells, “what are you doing? why aren’t you firing on the straw hat pirates?!” panel 2: a marine with a spyglass points at the departing thousand sunny and replies, “we can’t, sir! we believe they have a civilian hostage!” panel 3: the marine in charge shouts, “what?! give me that spyglass!” through the lens, luffy and law are visible on deck. they’re dressed for cold weather, but law lacks his usual spotted hat. he smiles softly at a chattering luffy. panel 4: the marine continues, “are you sure that isn’t another pirate?” luffy turns to law, laughing now. law laughs too, teeth bared and brows pinched like when he was young. panel 5: the thousand sunny is now tiny on the horizon. the marines answer, “sir, we checked. multiple times. he’s not on any of our wanted notices…” panel 6: law’s wanted poster lies in a stack of many others. in it, his teeth are bared and his brows are pinched, but this is a grimace. the photo is from wano, so his sword is raised, and there is blood running down his face.

a smile so rare, it counts as a disguise :)

one piece fancomic of law and luffy. panel 1: luffy and law are… making out? kissing? it feels awkward to type that. luffy is sitting in law’s lap, one hand braced against the wall and the other on the nape of law’s neck. law’s hands are resting on luffy’s waist. their faces are hidden by luffy’s hat. usopp calls from offscreen, “hey, luffy! we’re gonna start fireworks without you!” panel 2: luffy pulls away to throw a glance behind them with a, “hm?” his tongue is comically out, with a trail of spit tying him to law. law looks irritated as he mumbles, “seriously?” panel 3: luffy vigorously rubs mouth dry with his arm. panel 4: then he dramatically wipes his cheek, stretching it beyond normal limits. he looks flatly at law. panel 5: law sits on the floor and furiously shakes his fist as he snaps, “do you HAVE to do that EVERY time?!” at luffy implying he’s a sloppy kisser. luffy is already heading toward his crew, saying, “usopp! wait up!”

page 2. panel 1: shachi gives a disgusted look as he says, "wow, breaking out the kinky shit already, huh?" bepo sweats nervously as luffy's arms start crawling their way toward shachi's pancakes. panel 2: law huffs from offscreen, "he was just going to keep scratching himself." shachi scoots his pancakes away from luffy's literal wandering hand. panel 3: luffy, perfectly happy, laughs a shi shi shi and says, "torao just wanted to hand-feed me." as if to prove him correct, law's hand, holding another spoonful of pudding, hovers in front of him. panel 4: for no reason, the two of them scuffle. since luffy has no arms, he sword-fights law's pudding spoon with his own utensil, clutched in his toes. law furiously grumbles, "oh my god strawhat why the fuck are you like this." panel 5: giving up on their sparring, luffy lunges forward and sticks the pudding, the spoon, law's hand, and half of law's arm in his mouth. law raises his other hand in a familiar position, removing luffy's legs now. panel 6: luffy and law teleport away with a zoop, leaving bepo, shachi, penguin, and luffy's limbs behind.

page 3. panel 1: luffy and law reappear in one of the submarine's hallways. luffy, limbless, is being cradled in one arm by law. luffy see law's smirk and says, "you have a bad look on your face." panel 2: the look gets worse. law retorts, "you like my bad looks." panel 3: law starts walking them down the hall, heading for a room at the end. the narrator says, "and damn straight he was plotting something." panel 4: luffy lays in law's arms, smiling up at him, the picture of placid contentedness. panel 5: luffy sees something, and his eyes widen. law's mouth crooks in a smile. panel 6: luffy panics, eyes and mouth wide open as he struggles to free himself without limbs. law has a full toothy, evil grin now. the narrator continues, "he was going to do something that none of the fiercest pirates in the world had dared to do to monkey d. luffy."

Zoro is balancing on the bow of a burning ship as it's listing and sinking, and he is covered with splatters of blood from a previous fight. He looks meaningfully at Sanji standing before him, who in turn is coming up to the bow with his sky walk ability. Sanji's leg is still flaming as he reaches out to wipe a bloodstain from Zoro's cheek.
