So, starting today I'm doing a little personal NaNoWriMo! I've been thinking about writing a novel fleshing out my DnD character's backstory for a while, so this month I'm gonna see if I can't make it happen. I'm at 2664 words for the first day, which I reckon is pretty solid for a first chapter.

Trans rights are human rights. Their existence causes no harm and their deserving of dignity is not a debate.

This is a solid suggestion, I've been quite surprised by just how different my second playthru was from my first. Which might make for an interesting lens thru which to critique the game, because that's always an inherent problem for anyone making games, you can't blind-play your own creation.

No stream tomorrow on account of getting trapped in Iceland for an extra day, thanks to my plane getting delayed in Munich by an hour.

Yeah, I know for myself (and have seen other folks comment in their playthrus) that the first mask upgrade feels largely meaningless in a really unfortunate way. Same for the silk capacity upgrades, getting 1 extra tick of silk doesn't feel that impactful when it takes 9 to heal and 4 to cast.

It is with very mixed feelings that I release the last episode of my Silksong playthru today. The game has great visuals, music, combat, map design, & story... but the difficulty of the game low-key ruins it. I love it, but I also can't cleanly recommend it either.

I think Silksong's been out long enough that I can label my act 1 VODs without feeling like I'm gonna spoil folks, yeah? This feels like a reasonable amount of waiting.

You might enjoy 8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure, which has a surprisingly detailed map. The translation is a bit rough but the gameplay is solid, in my opinion.

Lapras' suggestive art raises questions about why they're the default sprite used in Gen 2. If you were to sit on that, uh, "lumpy" shell...

Hot take: the existence of Hollow Knight's normal mode in no way diminishes the Steel Soul mode.

Ergo, why would an "easy" mode diminish the normal mode? In what way would it invalidate or damage the experience of players on the normal mode?

Stretching the premise a bit and stealing an idea from beardville, I could see parents wanting subtitles to automatically sub out certain words for, say, "fudge"

I could actually see a pretty strong market for a TV with a whole suite of "no thank you" features. Audio filters against high ringing sounds, a color balancer that can prevent sudden flashes, something that would prevent low droning noises...
