That's interesting. I'd always worked in creative environments. Then I switched to a more corporate male techy company and that's when I noticed the difference.

One young guy I worked with enjoyed the same sense of the ridiculous but he was an outlier. As a serious answer to your question - I noticed that even in communication with clients there was a lack of appreciation that there's sometimes a different meaning between the lines

There's a piece in today's Guardian that gives some detail. Steam from the 190°C water drives the turbine, as you say. After that point the water temp drops to 50°C which is ideal for extracting the lithium. (I don't think #R4Today has a science editor.) The plant is near Truro.
