I just learned that Dan Simmons, the renowned sci-fi author, passed away this Friday. 😢
I never quite managed to get into Ilium/Olympos, but he’s firmly in my Hall of Fame for the Hyperion Cantos & The Terror.
As Hungarians say: May the earth rest lightly upon him.

Yep, I love it, but the recent update made me less eager to jump back in. They’re probably cool additions, but they feel more like "mandatory extras" than things I ever felt were *missing*.
I was just hoping for it to leave alpha and get the remaining core content, maybe with a few balance passes.🤷♂️

The "test" game is still ongoing, I plan to gather some feedback when it ends. :)
It's been pretty intense in the past some days though, with several new players now waging war and seemingly enjoying the occupation mechanics, so that's a good sign. :)

So you can already invade and conquer any non-garrisonable tile, force feudums to collapse, counter-bid claims on neutral land, or dispute them on wastegrounds.
You can also help an ally liberate their disputed lands.
Sieges themselves (as a fully unique battle type) are coming in the next update.

These games are epic, but the GOG link preview does everything it can to hide how cool they actually are.
Absolutely love every bit of the video, except for the voice-over effect.
I felt it "overlaps" too much with the game’s own voice-overs, which makes the whole setup feel a bit surreal. :)
