Pleased to share a preview of my latest publication “Relationships between cognitive appraisals of threat and challenge, psychophysiological responses, and clinical performance during high-stress simulated osces” in BMC Medical Education.

In environments where educators assess healthcare students using high-acuity OSCE assessments, we believe the findings of this study strongly endorse the concept that students should be given the opportunity to participate in a practice OSCE in simulated assessment conditions".

"Our results demonstrate that by undertaking repeat simulated high-acuity scenario assessments, learners can reduce their anxiety and stress levels, enhance confidence, improve decision-making skills, and more importantly produce better clinical outcomes.
