democrats are just as evil, ignorant, & delusional as republicans, & it's disturbing that they believe they have the moral high ground because they're loyal to a political party. but in a 2-party system, there's only 1 party: the government

i've been unfollowing anyone who identifies as a resister or is outspoken about voting blue or being a devoted democrat. unfortunately, that's like the majority of bluesky, but they're literally accomplishing nothing except to drown out everyone else & overtake the algorithm, & i can't support that.

i actually returned the last one i got because it was unopenable, & that's the last time i buy one of their products.

i regret following white "resisters" on this app. thought we'd have a lot in common, since i too am resisting, but it turns out that people whose entire personalities are being news junkies, aren't actually contributing anything useful to the revolution. buncha fake activists hiding behind screens.

twitter sucks because of all the magas, but bluesky sucks just as hard because of all the resisters. i get it, i hate the current regime as much as the next guy, but there's a lot more to resistance than reposting the news.

try boosting artists, educators, & people actually creating original works.

as an ethnic minority, it's so discouraging to see so many liberals hijacking the bsky algorithm to regurgitate politics with their echo chamber of people who already agree with them, creating nothing original... while ethnic creators making original works get drowned out by all the wannabe allies.

that's a super fair point about bernie. sounds like your friend doesn't understand what a centrist really is, because defending a white man at the cost of effectiveness is far more centrist than suggesting a white man change his approach.

that's a great question. personally, i think it's white ppl's responsibility to help each other understand how to seek out non-white voices. i don't think it’s their place to tell non-white people how to frame or market their messages (unless directly asked). we should just be listening & boosting.

which requires that we consume art & media from non-colonial people. until we stop flooding the algorithms with white outrage, we're not going to hear the messages that we need to liberate this country.

who are producing original creations (such as indigenous beading, music, poetry, & art). the algorithm isn't boosting them because it’s decided that white outrage is more important.

but focusing on politics alone is not effective resistance. we also need to be decolonizing our minds...

a lot of white liberals on this app are being so loud that you're drowning out the voices of ethnic minorities, in the name of "allyship." you're missing the point, & your tactics are oppressive to minorities.

part of fighting racism is learning that you've been told all your life that your opinion matters, even when it doesn't. you've been taught that you're more important than you are, while non-whites get told the opposite.

being an ally means not speaking so loud that you drown out their voices.

if, as a white liberal, you're telling ethnic minorities what they should/shouldn't be doing in the current political climate, you're not an ally. you're another white oppressor.

combating racism is only the bare minimum of allyship. a lot of you forget that you also need to decenter yourselves.
