My husband leaned Canadian progressive conservative when we met (which isn’t far off from the Democratic Party). He now leans left and socially progressive. My big ole barometer with him though was his thoughts on the LGBTQ+ as it was 2003 as my brother is gay, thankfully he was affirming.

I don’t think we talk about how much of a progressive badass Phil Donohue was.

I’m not going to watch hours of YouTube videos to get “context” when the context is actually even just as, if not even more so, terrible than the quotes I’m reading.

I want no one to die except after a living a long good life and peacefully in their sleep at the age of 100 or so. I’ve never even touched a gun. I’m a boring left-wing woman. These peoples’ imaginations and narratives are unhinged.

Seriously! I’ve always thought this, like EDs can have pretty devastating consequences on a growing body (and even fully grown ones too).

My suitcase got inspected twice yesterday, once at Ottawa’s airport and once at the border at Blaine Washington (we got pulled over for a random agricultural inspection at 11:00pm).

Agreed!! This is what gets lost. The bar for trans women to compete is already high! It’s like sporting regulatory bodies have already thought about fairness. Unfortunately there is a narrative that a male athlete decides to become a female athlete just to win when it’s not happening at all.

I fucking hate comments sections for sports. So many anti-trans people will bring up trans women in sports regardless of what the article’s about.

I saw this gross post on threads showing a pic of a thin woman Trump supporter and a larger woman Democrat to imply that Trump women are better looking. Lots of comments about how Democrat women can be conventionally attractive but a lack of comments about the obvious fatphobia being demonstrated.

I went for a 6k run this morning and actually got an energy boost! Feeling good (but tired now it’s almost 9pm).

I’m really happy though, I had a mental block from doing much exercise after my mom was diagnosed with cancer, but I’ve been back at it for the past few weeks.

I’m streaming Barre classes. I’m absolutely terrible but it’s half an hour of focusing on my core and glute strength which is good for my back! It’s okay to do things you’re not good at!!

You know when you go to your doctor and the front desk asks you if you have Covid/respiratory illness symptoms or if you’ve traveled internationally? Today they added another one “have you consumed unpasteurized cow’s milk or been around livestock in the past two weeks”.

It happened to my mom too (she’s 75)! She was okay in November and then needed around the clock care in mid-December.

It amazes me how many people have not seen a senior person they know deteriorate quickly because it absolutely can happen.

Yes! My right arm is a little sore, but otherwise I’m good!

Walking in downtown Everett with my husband today and totally tripped while going on the sidewalk. I do not enjoy falling.

I went with a then new boyfriend (still together 22 years later and married) to see Bruce Springsteen not being a fan of his, left being a fan of his, he’s amazing in concert!!!

My mother always loved Bennie Hill though. He went to the same Secondary school as my grandfather (though about 5-6 years later that my grandfather) and it required good test scores to get admitted!

Mother’s Day snuck up on me this year. Dealing with 2 kinds of grief at once. As a mom I just want a slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory tomorrow.
