Something I need to hammer home here because it's not being hammered enough: we need to be urging Congress to reauthorize the Museum and Library Services Act of 2018. Without it, funding would be meaningless.

Former archivist raises red flags over NARA cuts
Former Archivist Colleen Shogan said the 10% cut proposed for NARA in 2026 will hamper the agency's mission and digital modernization efforts.
Funding is being cut & eliminated where the National Archives & Records Administration needs it most. These targeted cuts are a deliberate attempt to weaken our ability to function as a democracy & hold members of our government accountable for their actions. federalnewsnetwork.com/budget/2025/...

Colorful graphic that has a rainbow in the top left corner. At the center, it reads "Pride Month Attacks in Libraries 2025" with a circle of words saying "share your experiences." Beneath that pink text box, there is more pink text saying "Share your stories at https://tinyurl.com/pride-in-libraries-25."
Library workersβhave you already experienced pushback, censorship, or attacks on your plans for Pride 2025?
I'm again collecting those stories for an article in mid-July.
I'll share this link throughout June as well. Details in the form, w/ previous stories.

Illustration for the "Future Knowledge" podcast. A surreal, retro-futuristic landscape blends past and future elements: a bust of a Roman figure, stacks of books, file cabinets, satellites, DNA strands, skyscrapers, and futuristic buildings. A cartoon mouse steers a shipβs wheel connected to a giant computer mouse. An old desktop computer displays the Authors Alliance logo, and an open file drawer shows a yellow folder labeled Internet Archive. At the bottom, bold text reads: βFUTURE KNOWLEDGE.β
