(2) remember how pressed the government was during COVID? We had time to protest. How many new homebrew businesses popped up? How many new skills did you learn? How many of you lost your shit because you've NEVER had mastery of your time before?
Time. That's the resource we fight for.

"Reclaim Sovereignty Of Your Time"
That's it. That's the unifying message at the heart of what most of us long for in this country at the end of the day and what can free us if we embrace it and use it to unify. They have taken mastery of our time through work, school, thinning out our resources...

The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights.

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other

This. And it's usually all to soothe their own ego. Virtue signaling. Because associating with the "sullied" depreciates their projected goodness.
They are so pressed to be seen as good they'd rather let shit go to hell than look bad. AND they want a cookie for it. Smdh ๐

I want others to be able to find themselves, to see themselves beyond conceptual abstract. Yes, people like you are here. No, you are not alone, not abhorrent and broken. Yes, you too can be free. Yes, you too can find such peace, happiness and bliss in self.

I'm a relationship anarchist and, hell, an anarchist in general. Scientist, philosopher, dominatrix.
I want to be visible, to remain visible. Defiantly visible. We are here. We always have been. Like grass piercing concrete roads we remain. Natural, wild, free.

I have an altar with bones on it and am not a fan of the Christian god. A survivor of both SA and of the death cult that is conservative evangelicalism. I am AFAB, an organizer and leader of resistance.
My brain is flavored with AuDHD & Bipolar II disorder. I have trouble feeding myself.

For a long time now I've made the intentional choice to live my life loudly because there are some who can't. I'm a pansexual sex worker, my blood tells the story of inhumane trade, attempted genocide (and blessed resilience - "yet we remain"), and the imperialism that brought it.

Community is a powerful medicine, especially for those who fall outside the rigid, biased, and narrow boxes of the normative.
Witnessing that we're not alone, sharing time with living, breathing examples of how we can thrive. Lifting each other up, companionship. Representation. Solidarity. Hope.

I'd appreciate that, thank you! It's ok. With all this shit we're in rn, I get it. Head's on a swivel, all out of fucks to give, and less-than-zero tolerance for even a whiff of bullshit. Honestly? Sometimes "angry gets shit done!" ๐๐ฝโจ
I appreciate you allowing me space to explain. ๐

I don't think it's funny at all. Thank you for challenging that, though. It's important to stomp that shit out asap. We're seeing what happens when we don't.
I just found Shaka's work through mutual colleagues here on bluesky. I love what I've seen from him so far, but I'm still getting oriented.

Thanks for clarifying. The ๐คญ was meant to be the liberals, since I was referring to things I've heard in activist circles from them. It's mocking their teehee attitude. "We" was for myself, you all, and everyone who already knows there's nothing dirty/derogatory about homosexuality.

Exactly. It still ends up evoking the same harmful message, ultimately. If I were to replace sexuality with, say, a racially based cartoon, that probably would get recognized and mentally red flagged by most ppl immediately. So it's very telling when ppl don't recognize the link there.

That's absolutely true, they know where to look if they want to. I see understanding differently. More analyzing than empathic.
One of my survival mechanisms is to "know your enemy, audience, fears." For me, the more I know how they work, the more I can recognize, fight, sway, or strategize. Intel!

Ohh, I see. I'm so sorry, I see why it was confusing. Thank you. I thought OP wanted to know why liberals thought it was ok/excusable to do, so I offered what I knew from working with some. ๐
My wording was too sloppy. I'll do better. ๐๐ฝ

I realize that you thought I meant that it was okay to use sexuality as a weapon. No. Absolutely not. I'm sorry for not being more clear.
Serious question: what part of what I said made you think that I was for sexuality being used as a weapon? I'd like to avoid future miscommunication.

Agreed. Is there a difference if the artists themselves were queer? Does the context change there, do you think? Does the message change character then? If cis-het ppl do it, definitely a problem. What about our own?

I am LGBTQIA+. My "we" referred to the queer community and others who register homosexuality as normal. I work in decolonizing and deconstructing structural models in relationships. My job *requires* me to think about ppls' perspectives in order to reframe thoughts.

I understand the confusion. I hope you understand my intention at least and the context behind the words used. I was not disagreeing. Both things can be true at once. Liberals don't see it as an issue, though they should pause and challenge why.
Thank you for being critical and skeptical, though!

It is just as foolish to assume that every one one is acting purposefully out of malice and ignorance. Especially when it comes to deconstructing, conditioned discrimination and prejudice. In order to teach them, we need to understand why they think it's acceptable and then speak to that.

That is why I am fascinated and constantly considering why people may choose to do the things they do. Overtly and subtly. What do they think is their motivation and what is some lingering conditioning. OP was likely questioning that subtle conditioning. So I referred to the superficial motivation.

Also, I happen to be a queer gender non-conforming, relationship diverse, woman of color who understands intersectionality. I also encourage critical, self-examination and deconstruction.

Since apparently I have to clarify, I agreed with the original post but just offered an alternative in order to understand the minds of others. This does not mean I co-sign this practice, but I understand why they think it's effective.

It's torture. It's traumatic. We can't switch off though. We know what happens next, so time to plan our next immediate actions. Even hiding til it blows over requires planning rn. Let's figure it out.
Anyone vulnerable in your immediate circle? Prioritize facilitating their exit or needs.
