Anyone know a #Bengali / #Bangla casual podcast? I’m looking for immersion material. I don’t understand a word yet but that’s okay, I just want to listen a lot. Preferably something casual, just someone talking about everyday things. The only ones I found were religious/historical. Thanks!

Yes! We’ve all learned a language using this method and yet we all tend to ignore it…

Wow that’s some detailed research! A little bit of all resonates, but now that I think of it I think it’s mostly the intonation, especially in colloquial French. I actually don’t mind the French spoken in movies or news, but the one spoken on the street. Maybe it’s the closed sounds you mentioned 🤔

Thanks for sharing the explanation! For me it’s definitely exposure. The more I hear a language the more I like it, I think. And funny enough, French is probably the ugliest to my ears, here even exposure doesn’t help ;). I always wondered why it’s considered so pretty…

It’s been a week! I must say writing those updates is quite motivating. I don’t like admitting to the world wide web that I haven’t been doing my reviews ;) So - today another strong Arabic day. All reviews + couple new lessons done, plus some listening. Good day :)

What language are you interested in?

I feel like this is one of the few positive and actually interesting things that the internet has brought recently.

Very strong day for Arabic today! Did new lessons, reviewed over 150 words, and even listened to some audio while playing a game. I'm happy to be back at it, I've been losing the motivation lately.
My progress starts to get tangible now. It's a nice feeling 😊

2hrs of listening to Persian audio course, a nice refresh. Was relieved to see I didn’t forget everything.

Practiced Bengali alphabet with an Anki deck. It works quite well. I tried handwriting, but it was too difficult.

Bengali alphabet might be the coolest I've ever seen I've been wanting to learn Bengali for some time now. I watched a documentary where it was spoken, and I fell in love with its sound. Now I finally sat down ...

I didn't know much about Bengali, but I certainly didn't expect this. Pretty cool!

Did a couple Mondly Bengali lessons, but I'm quite confused about their review system.
And finally, finished my daily Arabic reviews, and about to listen to a Portuguese podcast. Good day!

Today I was determined to make a lot of progress in Arabic... so I switched to a completely new language and learned #Bengali alphabet and some basic words. Not a bad day ;D

What's the absolute best material you've ever used to learn a #language? I want to learn something new but I hate looking for resources, do I decided to start the other way around - find the best app/course and see what languages they offer.
I'd really appreciate any recommendations!
