Saying Sorry (Part 3/4)

Characters

August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT.

Fergus - Alligator - A grandpa who has been chewed up by the world but is doing his best. August's father.

Transcript

Panel 1

August's dad, Fergus, has stopped by to drop off a gift and apologize for something that happened in August's childhood. Fergus is not the best as expressing his feelings so he's doing his best to speak carefully and honestly. August has made some coffee. He hands a mug to his dad that says "MUG" while August holds one for himself that says "SON of MUG". August is secretly delighted at the opportunity to use these mugs.

Fergus: I didn't mean to get emotional. I'm sorry.

Panel 2

Fergus just flat out says what he came to say.

Fergus: I remembered that time I burned your toys. You didn't deserve that.

Panel 3

Fergus looks away for a moment. He wants to make sure he apologizes without making excuses for himself like his own father used to.

Fergus: I should have been a better dad to you and your sisters. I'm sorry that I was so hurtful and angry.

Panel 4

Fergus: Being someone's parent is hard. Being someone's kid shouldn't be.

Reform politicians are happy to throw insults from a distance.

But when it comes to debating their ideas? No show.

Richard Tice pulled out.
Farage won’t face me.
Now their candidate in Gorton & Denton has ducked our candidate Hannah Spencer.

Vote Green.

Loving the first #NoOutsiders display this year. We are finding ways to make sure every child knows they belong regardless of nationality, and teaching that we all bring something unique to the school #Belonging #pshe

My girls are SO excited when they get a dress with pockets. So little of their clothing does. Cute reaction, but does speak towards clothes being gendered.

Smile A LOT.

I legitimately received the advice to not smile before Christmas with my NQT class. Can’t think of worse, legitimate advice I’ve received in my life.

a woman with long hair is standing on a beach with her hand on her head Alt: a woman pirate with long hair is standing on a beach putting a hat on.

I would like to know your top picture books about pirates and treasure chests. Suitable for nursery/P1.

And also your best pirate activities! #EduSkyPrimary

I second the troll, and the wellerman.

I’ll add Neil Gaiman’s Pirate Stew! Fab rhymes and hilarious ending, and you could really flesh it out…make pirate stew out of ANYTHING, and they could turn into pirates. Could also do real food stuff.

Look after your headteacher!!!

We are still hearing too many stories of Headteachers at the end of their tether!

Heads do such a demanding job.

We really need to look after them!

We’re not an island of strangers-
We’re a tapestry, bold and bright.
Every culture, every story,
Turns difference into light.
Welcoming new faces
Builds bridges, not divides.
Britain’s true strength
Is everyone, side by side.

Great shout, but after growing calendula to eat, I discovered it was the first thing I’ve ever been allergic to!

Just minor, but even the smell of them nowadays makes my throat close up a bit 😩

Are there any trusts whose executive team regularly spend days in school supporting with supply/teaching?

Seems a great way to deal with supply issues and see how things work in classrooms.

ha yes this is me, but in the evening.

And then sometimes I forget to schedule it and ping a teacher an email at like 10:30 at night. THEN there's the dilemma: do I reply right away and apologise?!
