It’s a disgrace 1 in 4 people in Wales are in fuel poverty. Everyone should have the right to be warm and healthy in their homes.

Tonight, I joined colleagues at a candlelight vigil at the Senedd to show solidarity with survivors of violence against women and girls in Wales and across the world, marking the 16 days of activism against gender based violence.

Without putting human rights into Welsh law, people in Wales will be left to rely on the goodwill of government.

The timing is crucial, because we face of a powerful, coordinated anti-human rights movement, which threatens our freedoms and wellbeing.

I’m proud to be Chair of the Senedd Cross Party Group on Human Rights which today launched a report on the importance of strengthening human rights protections for the people of Wales.
