Workers internationally must stand with working people in Venezuela against the privatization and plundering of their oil resources by U.S. and Western European oil companies. We must also fight to end the sanctions against Venezuela, which have had catastrophic consequences.

If this is not prevented through immediate mass action by working people in the U.S., in Venezuela, and internationally, it could take thousands of lives.

This is incredibly dangerous and could lead to war against Venezuela and potential occupation. Trump has said outright that he intends for the U.S. military and oil companies to “run the country,” and that his administration is “not afraid of boots on the ground.”

Yet despite widespread opposition from working people, Democrats are cheering on the coup. Even “progressive” Democrats are limiting their their critique to merely asking for Congressional approval and fanning Trump’s false narratives about “narcoterrorism” to justify the assault.

Donald Trump and the Republicans have launched a horrific attack against Venezuela and carried out a military coup, including abducting President Nicolás Maduro. This assault, the culmination of a decades-long, bipartisan project of U.S. imperialism, must be completely condemned.

There is no avenue for working people to win under capitalism without declaring war back on the billionaire class. Watch for socialist analysis and strategy to organize working people to fight the rich and both of their political parties, and build towards the new working class party that we need.

As Kshama has said, "When you become part of a political organization that is controlled by the billionaires, it's the billionaire's agenda that holds sway, not our agenda."

Unfortunately we see the same strategy by Mamdani, who is holding meetings with billionaires, corporate Democrats, and even Trump, and not organizing the hundreds of thousands of people who volunteered for his campaign into a movement to take on Wall Street.

It is a party of the billionaires that will never fight for working people. Bernie, AOC, and others have refused to organize mass movements to fight the rich and their political servants. They have capitulated to the Democratic Party establishment, giving left cover to the endless sell outs.

The Democratic Party sold out on healthcare now for the same reason they never put forward the public option under Obama, and crushed universal healthcare bills in state after state.

But at the same time, the Democratic Party put tens of millions of working people through hell in the government shutdown while claiming to fight for our healthcare, only to sell out as soon as the elections were over.

This year's elections were a resounding rebuke of Trump, Wall Street, and the Zionist lobby. Mamdani's victory in New York City shows that working people are hungry for demands like a rent freeze, universal childcare, and free transit funded by taxing the rich.
