With free agency looming, we are about to have a LOT of discussion about contractual and positional value.
There’s no worries on either with Micah Parsons who is worth more than most QBs in the league right now.

Charlie Kolar is an under-the-radar guy I’d love for the Packers.
They need a tight end that can block behind Tucker Kraft. He’s a nice complement to Luke Musgrave. Special teams player. Won’t be expensive.
Mentioned this today on @lockedonpackers.bsky.social but a lot of this offseason hinges on what the Packers already think of their DT room.
If they think Wyatt is a long-term piece then a NT is really the big need and unless you can find an elite pass rushing NT (rare) Day 3 draft is fine.
Brian Gutekunst can't afford to wait and hope the draft brings the reinforcements the #Packers need.
He has to go shopping now.

The Dolphins are going nowhere fast. They're going to have to pay De'Von Achane in the next year. Does it make sense for them to pay a RB with as bare as that roster is going to be?
What about Elgton Jenkins (to play guard) with a pick for one year of Achane?
Bobby Okereke has warts as a player. Still, if the Packers want an experienced "Mike" linebacker to take Quay Walker's spot without sacrificing a comp pick, he's a reasonable option.

Edgerrin Cooper rushed over 6% of his snaps last year.
That's down from 10% as a rookie.
Yes, Cooper was awesome as a blitzer, but Micah Parsons' virtuosic interior pass-rushing ability took precedence. Did they get too cute with that?
We expect the #Packers to move on from Elgton Jenkins this offseason, but with OL already getting traded, Brian Gutekunst should be on the horn trying to move their veteran OL rather than simply cutting him.

It's interesting because Todd McShay said some teams see Lee Hunter as iDL in this class (before the combine), while Dane Brugler has Hunter 60th.
After a tough showing at the combine, I wonder if his value settles closer to where the Packers pick in R2
This has been something I have criticized Ted Thompson for in the past. He’s cut some veterans with name PR and pedigree who ended up signing real deals after being released.
I find it hard to believe the Packers couldn’t get some value for them.
Elgton Jenkins is way better than the guys who just got traded.
If the Packers are going to cut him anyway, I’d be on the phone to Cleveland, New England, Houston and LA.
There's a LOT to talk about around the #Packers right now.
Today for @theleap.bsky.social , I grabbed three of the biggest post-Combine storylines to dig into incudling a cowardly group of CBs (joking)

We had so much to talk about on today's @lockedonpackers.bsky.social we had to push Mock Draft Monday!
On Cam Achord, the weekend combine standouts, and the future of the RB position with Emanuel Wilson likely headed out the door

Fascinated by the Devin Bush market. Former high pick on his third team. Was trending toward mega-bust territory, but then had the best year of his career in Cleveland.
If he’s going to get 8-12 million, I’d be in for that. 15+ would make me very nervous.

The defensive front 7 kicked off the athletic testing at the combine with a bang.
That's great news for the Packers, who are likely eyeing some of these players with early picks.

The Packers are renovating their training room, but based on a conversation I had with a recent player, the methodology in the training room is what needs updating.
The player said every type of injury seems to be treated more or less the same way.
Did a @lockedonpackers.bsky.social about this the other week, but the Packers don’t need freak numbers at DT. In fact most of their picks outside of Wyatt going back to Ted Thompson were more 75th percentile athletes.
Especially when it comes to NT which is the position GB needs.
Seems weird but 40 is one of the numbers that correlates for DTs in the NFL.
Packers also love broad jump.
Devonte Wyatt ran the fastest time ever for a guy over 300 pounds. 86th percentile broad jump for DT.
His 1.6 10 split is 99th percentile.
There are almost 30 TEs at the combine this week. About 50% more than we normally see.
Not a loaded group at the top but a TON of depth on Day and the Packers could use major depth reinforcements behind Tucker Kraft.
When the #Packers see a RB needs a year away, Brian Gutekunst will use premium picks to fill that void.
Why this year could be that year, even with a thin RB draft class.

If some of the WR projections I’m hearing for these solid-but-not-great free agents are real, the Packers should try to extend the extension for Christian Watson ASAP..

He's not what he once was, but Matt Milano played for Bobby Babich and is projected to cost half of what Quay Walker will get on the open market.
Adding a hungry veteran who has played in 100 big games sounds interesting at least.
What if the Packers offseason heading into Day 3 of the draft was
DJ Reader
Greg Newsome II
R2: Connor Lew
R3: Mike Washington Jr.
How would you feel?
If that’s what he thinks, he’s even more the guy in the hot dog suit that we realize.
They signed and drafted a bunch of guys for him. That wasn’t enough. They started using starters on coverage teams. That wasn’t enough. They’ve done everything and it hasn’t worked. It’s the coach. I’m sorry.
"The Packers" don't have a close-game problem or a 'playing down to their opponent' problem.
They have a last-mile problem and don't yet have answers for how to get to the finish line.

Brian Gutekunst says the Packers are already Super Bowl quality.
Saying that outloud is about setting the right expectations, not a signal the team will do nothing in the offseason.
youtu.be/FCvqN8PzHpM
The last dynamic punt returner they had was Micah Hyde who was drafted to be a pivotal part of the defense (and he was).
They won a Super Bowl with proto Jordy Nelson returning kicks and Tramon Williams returning punts.
