Do the Lib Dems support the CSET busway proposal from the GCP which traverses the Granta River valley with major road and bridges that will ruin the chalk stream landscape when there’s a viable alternative nearby on the former railway alignment, avoiding the majority of the river?

£2.5 billion capital funding is a drop in the ocean for a scheme that would pay for itself in no time through increased economic activity driven by improved labour mobility.
This is a bad decision made for the wrong reasons by weak people who don’t deserve the power they wield.
A bus network is not attractive rapid transit & will struggle to drive modal shift and investment. Look no further than Cambridge to see that despite busways, overall mode share of buses remains stuck on ~8% & congestion keeps increasing… is that the answer for Leeds? We don’t think so.
