People spend a lot of time wondering why the left is worse at using independent media to control the national narrative.

A useful exercise is to ask why the left is also worse at selling snake oil and pyramid schemes, because I think the reasons are basically exactly the same.

Much like Doctor Mike did on Jubilee. The issues people have with science is personal, each criticism is individual to the person, yes some of it is dogmatic, but it all still comes from a bad experience based on systemic issues that have been individualized.

Each field has its own issues, so asking the broad left’s issue with broadly science, won’t get you much insight. I suggest looking into each field. Like giving Dr. Fatima on YouTube a watch to learn how the astrophysics field interacts with the public, esp indigenous sovereignty.

As for actual antiacademic leftism, it’s just populism, not inherently a left position.

However I do believe that the populist criticisms can be addressed by repairing the relationship science, particularly the medical field, has with the public.

but all the academics in the field they’re entering criticize that these folks are arguing and wielding their other degrees as a form of authority without being well read on the literature.

Every time these authors were criticized was when they were using their degree to speak over researchers in other fields. What does a physicist bring to the table on gender/sex studies? And I do support interdisciplinary study,

Personally I can see how the left presents ethics issues such as being anti GMO.

But the ways in which the book highlights, their issue with “the anti science left” is that they don’t support their conservative beliefs when they step outside their area of expertise.
