Bitch, come on.

Unsolicited advice (sorry); what made the most difference for me was uninstalling the native YouTube-app, instead install socialfocus.app and force myself to only interact with YouTube through the browser. Hiding shorts, feed etc with SocialFocus made for a more healthy relationship with YouTube.

No idea how well it runs on PS5 but I’d definitely say FF9, if I had to pick just one. FF7 is a lovely game but I hindsight I think it unfairly overshadows 9

Then again I get that with the custom feeds here, so might be there is no conflict wrt what I want and what you’re saying

This might be a bad take, but I’m not sure I agree that getting earlier pigeonholed is a good thing 😅 I’ve started disabling the “feed” in many SoMe-apps because the app gets overeager when thinks it has pinned down my interests. I want more time to explore

When SaaS products grow and the architecture starts to break down, two types of devs emerge:
1. Those who believe the system is beyond repair and needs to be totally rebuilt
2. Those who put their heads down and fix it one piece at a time
I've only seen group #2 be successful.

The most humbling part of writing a presentation to explain a concept, is coming to realize you don’t understand the thing you want to present as well as you thought you did.

I find the notion of value is difficult to quantify even for myself. I can find myself liking a post that is take-it-or-leave-it filler content. Like something humorous or zingy. In that regard I am probably signaling through engagement that I want more of this. But I’m not sure I actually do.

Yeah customizable feeds makes sense in that regard.
Seems there’s also sort of a follow-for-a-follow market right now so I guess there is a gold rush/land grab going on. And as you say, how much then are followers “worth” down the line? Is it more about getting yourself into “valueable” feeds?

The whole starter packs concept seems like a good idea. But then I go into some profiles and they follow 30k people. And I wonder, what’s the point? It’s like having dozens of books in “currently reading” on Goodreads, you’re never going to get through all that.

I’ve not been a huge fan of movies about games, but after the latest Super Mario and Sonic-movies I think I’m ready to change my stance. Also looking forward to this one!

Like with DevOps Handbook or Team Topologies, etc. Which might be disheartening in some ways but also hammers home the point that difficulties you encounter at work is probably less about fixing process and tools than it is about people and how they interact, think and cooperate.

Finished reading “Make Work Visible” last evening, which is all about the flow of work and exposing bottle necks and “time thieves”. I liked it but as with all “how do we work” books I’ve read it always seem to boil down to “to do this you need a major change in the culture of the company”

Though there is some weirdness in writing English here in a thread ostensibly filled with Norwegians. Same when people review PRs and write comments in English when the whole team is Norwegian-speaking. But there one could argue it’s inclusive for other teams in the company, or future team members.

I think @nikolaia.com had a good point about this that context and intent matters. To me it feels natural to post in English when it’s about tech. But maybe not for other topics.
