Key food programs for CT students could be at risk with proposed SNAP, Medicaid cuts, advocates warn An advocate warned if the federal cuts pass there will be more hunger in homes and classrooms and over the summer.

Currently, families receiving government assistance are automatically enrolled in Summer EBT without having to apply. But scaling back SNAP could end that automatic access to Summer EBT and force families to navigate a more complicated application process.
