Sure. They don’t have to be exclusive. I’m saying that if you don’t like the eagles or the Beatles for cultural reasons that’s totally valid in my eyes. If the ubiquity of the Beatles left a bad taste in your mouth don’t listen to them. It’s okay not to like them for that reason.

I am so here for this spite move. We might disagree on some things, but this is a baller response.

I think I’m the opposite. The peripheral are part of the art. Art doesn’t exist in a vacuum.I love punk. Being a part of that scene was integral to me getting through some hard times. That culture and community is intrinsically tied to the music for me. I want the peripheral to be part of the music.

For me this is discounting the cultural context in which art is experienced.

I think a lot of times I don’t like them because they are old is a poorly articulated way of saying I don’t like the condescending pricks I associate with them.

My school put on a play. I went and watched it. Fantastic. But the analysis I would do of seeing it versus reading it are very different for me. I wouldn’t say since I’ve seen the play that I have read it or vice versa.

I think listening to a voice acting of it would be a third experience

My gut response is to disagree, and I’m coming of a place of trying to understand. Does reading a transcript of a podcast count as listening to a podcast? My gut reaction her is also “no”.

Third grade reading scores

8th grade reading scores.

The Mississippi miracle keeps coming up with conservative prognosticators. When I look at scores of 3rd grade vs 8th grade it doesn’t look as impressive. 8th grade scores have stagnated more or less since 98. Am I missing something? #edusky

I’ve been running this set up for 4 years. And sure I’ve spend another couple hundred dollars on accessories but doesn’t affect results too much.

I’ve run the numbers, I’m saving.
$400 Gaggia classic pro
$300 sette 270 grinder
$300 Gaggiuino upgrades =$1000

I make a minimum of 60 espresso shots a month and spend $60/month on coffee.

At shop 60 shots * $4/shot = $240

I save $180 per month. In 6 months I’m in black.

Second the Gaggiuino. I did the upgrade 4 years ago and it cured upgrade-itis. (Sure I updated to the Gen 3 screen but that’s a relatively low cost move)

It’s 8:42pm. The streets are empty save for the sounds of thriller. As trick or treating ends so does thriller being on repeat. I am free.
