This film touches some of the same themes and motifs as Sunset Boulevard, but where Sunset Boulevard is a dark satire of Hollywood, Baby Jane is a psychological thriller, almost Hitchcock-esque. The "stars past their prime" element is a plot mechanism here rather than a commentary on fame/industry.

I completely forgot about how they attempt some comic relief in the third act but it just ups the tension by like 3000%
