It is backwards that the 6mo suspension comes now though after a much, much less serious offense. It should have taken place immediately after what he did to National Law.

But the only reason to hit National Law when he did was out of anger. We donβt need jockeys who abuse their mounts when they get mad.

Sorry Mr. Byk, but I canβt agree with you about Paco. I think he should have gotten 6 months for smacking National Law in the face after the race was over and the horse was well in hand.
From my memory from his previous term when Charles was prince it seems Charles kinda hated him.
It seems like the government is asking them to host for diplomatic reasons. And theyβre going along with it because thatβs their job as royals.
@stevebyk.bsky.social As many have said JCGC was horrifying. I was so scared for Irad. I think it was Migliore who when reflecting on Turcotte railed against rough starts. And how it would be shame if it took an injury like that again.
Considering Kendrick only got 5 days, Mig might still be right.
Or it could be something like the brand of grain not agreeing with their digestion. Or they donβt like the horse theyβre stalled next to. Or they donβt like the track surface. Or they donβt like the weather/climate of that region of the country.
Theyβre not cars, theyβre living beings with feelings

Gotta agree so hard about the gamblers who know nothing about horses. Iβve never worked with racehorses, but showjumpers. Something as simple as saddle fit can completely change a horseβs performance. Let alone major stuff like if they get along with their rider.
What a lovely Travers Day!
Not the best betting day, but what amazing races and horses!
Thorpedo Anna/Dorth Vader gave us an exciting stretch duel, Sovereignty crowned himself, BookβEm Danno giving us a feel-good underdog story.
What more could a race fan want?
RIP. This is a rough year of losses in the industry.
22.08.2025 19:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And OMG a Lake Placid movie shoutout! Great movie, Betty White was a treat in it, and played such a Betty White character. No spoilers, but the characterβs actions are very in-line with βRoseβ from Golden Girls IMO.

You broadcast the Holy Bull Travers the other day, and Iβd never heard it before (I was only 2 when the race ran). Wow, what a great race call! I could practically see the race unfold. Had me on the edge of my seat for the stretch even though I already knew the result.
At the TEEN Miss America Pageant. With underage contestants.

I agree but the word βnovelβ means βnewβ.
There is nothing novel/new about the US providing weapons to Ukraine. Unless youβre suggesting that under Biden we didnβt sent weapons?
Because there is nothing βnovelβ about it? Biden was giving weapons to Ukraine as well.
In the article the βnovelβ part is that we actually arenβt giving weapons to Ukraine. Weβre selling them to Europe and Europe is giving them to Ukraine. Somehow war profiteering is βnovelβ now.
Completely agree. Libraries are a vital public resource.
Not only for providing kids and adults with access to books, but all of the other services they offer. Mine offers programs to help teach kids to read, especially useful for the parents of dyslexic children. As well as other programs.
Historically the hard part is not getting a robot to pick crops. Itβs getting them to not squish/bruise the crops into in the process.
The human hand is still the most efficient tool for efficient harvest of most crops.
Getting kids to read isnβt just about expanding their minds and introducing them to different perspectives. Itβs also about promoting literacy.

Assuming the child does not have any special needs that make reading text impossible:
It is super important for kids to actually learn to read. Not just have an audio book read to them. Even if they have dyslexia, it may take longer to learn, but itβs a skill they will need to master to survive.
You guys arenβt fighting! Clearly misunderstood the assignment here.
Idiots.
I just recommended it right before I saw your comment. I believe itβs called βClose to Shoreβ.
I discovered it when Shark Week (when it used to be good) did a made-for-tv movie called Twelve Days of Terror, which noted that it was based on the book.
I really recommend the book βClose to Shoreβ. A great novelization of the history.

RIP to the legend.
He kept at it, living his passion, until nearly the day he passed. And passed on surrounded by those who loved and cherished him.
I hope his loved ones can find some small solace in that.
Me being new to Bluesky doesnβt make you any less unhinged.
But go ahead stalk my profile, thatβll really prove your sanity hon.
When called out they corrected themselves and said this type of wrestling is always fake. They clearly werenβt thinking of Olympic-style wrestling when they made the comment.
Since then youβve been acting like a lunatic. And theyβve become increasingly condescending to your bizarre behavior.
Just give up theyβre clearly a weirdo. Only thing to do is ignore them until they run out of steam and the tantrum passes.

I guess up until 2016 I thought we were passed the worst of that shit in the US.
Now I find myself having to checking the calendar to make sure it says 2025 and not 1925.
This I do know.
Still somehow didnβt expect them to outright say that they believe black folks pine for the fields. Like wtf.
As I said I immediately knew he meant it in a very racist and fucked up way. My brain just refused to put 2 and 2 together and realize he meant THAT.
Growing up in NYβ¦ well weβre far from perfect. But if I said some shit like that here Iβd fully expect an incoming punch. And deservedly.
I always wondered what exactly he meant by βblack jobsβ. I knew it was gonna be shitty and racist. But for some reason I imagined he meant trades, which was shitty enough to imply trade school is lesser or that black people are lesser.
But holy shit he literally means a return to the fields.
