No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientistβbecause the person felt she did didnβt deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Global environmental politics expert Dr Yixian Sun highlights future energy transition opportunities for UK and China.
Speaking on Outrage and Optimism: The Climate Podcast, Dr Sun highlighted the ways in which the UK could collaborate with #China in achieving each nationβs net zero targets.
A canny political and media strategy from @zackpolanski.bsky.social. Immediately he defuses climate delayersβ favourite cynical attack lines, and avoids headlines like βPolanski says you should never go on holiday, drive a car, or eat meatβ.
But, crucially, he's leading by example...

Just want to give enormous credit to my colleague Dan Lewis, who not only spotted this problem yesterday but produced a huge amount of analysis.
We very much hope to see action in the Budget to address this.

Quizing people on their sex to see if they are 'allowed' ro be in the toilet sounds difficult to do in a non harrassing way. As a teen I was often misgendered (paricularly by uni lecturers). If someone doesn't take you at your word what will be 'proof' enough for them?

In 2018, Meta decided βclean energyβ and βclimate changeβ were politically sensitive topics, and demanded that I - a climate scientist - register as a political org to post and boost posts on them.
I refused, and my page has been shadow banned since then. For 7 years. Until this week, that is π³

Our new study finds that the upper atmosphere is becoming more sheared and less stratified because of climate change. Both these changes are making the atmosphere less stable and more conducive to turbulence.
