This.

Knowing that they were going to do this, they should have addressed the public on the decision. Made USE of the moment.

I always tell people that I'm not worried about AI doing what I do, I'm worried about people with control over my livelihood thinking that AI can do what I do!

Due respect Senator, your eight colleagues are one of the real dangers. We do not need an adjustment. We do not need a vibe shift. We need a complete rebuilding of the Democratic Party.

Durbin is correct, in the sense that the Senate is filled with members of the ruling class who have long forgotten who they work for and whose money they are spending.

Not a single senate Democrat should be politically safe from this day forward. Not one

"Why do you just attack democrats? Why don't you ever go after republicans?"

Same reason I think it's necessary to warn people off an inexplicably popular restaurant that keeps giving everyone food poisoning but don't see the need to warn people off of eating directly out of an open sewer.

Love that even in this story, Schumer caved without accomplishing anything useful.

Unless Democratic Senators who voted no on the #Schumersurrender today explicitly call for Schumer to resign or step aside - they all own this cave. Just pushing out performative posts and press releases don’t count for much anymore. Enough.

Hey just a reminder that it only takes 23 Senate Democrats to remove and replace Chuck Schumer as minority leader. They don't do it because the majority of Senate Democrats approve of the way he does politics.

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

my opinion is that the whole point of a government is to keep its citizens alive. any government that can't figure out how to house and feed everyone in its borders has failed! we have enough for everyone, but some people have nothing. that's not my fault or yours, that's policy working as intended.

Oil is the most Lovecraftian thing that actually exists. You're telling me that there's a black ichor under the earth, made from the ancient dead, whose burning can realize all the dreams of man but only at the price of slowly returning the earth to its primordial state?

If you’re wondering what a β€œleast weasel” is, they absolutely live up to the name. This is the least amount of animal you can have that can still meet the bar for β€œis weasel”

My experience with Congress taught me why shorter work weeks are so important because these people so furiously defend their relaxation time that they will literally ruin the lives of millions of people to avoid working Fridays.

I think a lot about the story Carl Reiner told: he’d have been a sewing machine repairman if not for a free WPA drama class. That led to other theater work, to Sid Caesar, to Mel Brooks, and all the rest. All because of one free class paid for by a government that felt the arts were worth teaching.

this is very funny, but to be earnest for a moment: the same guys setting $10M on fire here are the ones who can’t stand the idea of buses being free, of rent being affordable, of anything at all being easier for all the people for whom $10M would be an unimaginably transformative amount of money
