There must be something more going on with Romero. I was still surprised Harvey didn't come on. I guess Knowles knew they'd eventually move to a back 3, and wanted Duggan in the middle?
Worked out fine, but interesting decisions.

01.03.2026 00:46 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I dunno if it's good game-state planning but I do enjoy watching the Loons thunder around high-pressing in the 86th minute #MNUFC

I was really impressed by Callender. Shot stopping was good, although he didn't face too many big tests, but I really like the way he controlled the box. Some nicely timed steps off his line today.
#MNUFC
Triantis looked quite good technically, he had a few absolutely perfect first touches taking the ball out of the air and keeping his momentum going. But the decision making wasn't the best. Way too much dribbling in around in #MNUFC 's own half.
01.03.2026 00:39 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Really happy Yeboah got another goal. He played really well everywhere else on the field. It was a great poacher's goal too!
01.03.2026 00:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Loons did a good job of keeping FCC out of transition offense. I think that was key to beating this Evander-less Cincinnati team.
28.02.2026 23:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great win for #MNUFC today! Had some good, if not always dangerous, stints of possession. Especially in added time they held the ball for 5 minutes to help kill off the game. Huge improvement over last year.
28.02.2026 23:50 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0#MNUFC need to find Bongi running in behind on the right. Had a couple opportunities that were missed. But if they don't play him on, Bongi has to work back onsides.

Yeboah looks really good out there. Absolutely cooked a Cincinnati player 1-on-1 on the left.
#MNUFC
They had one excellent sequence breaking out of the back, but Pereyra killed the momentum.
28.02.2026 22:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0#MNUFC took 20 minutes to figure out how to pass to each other, but we're much better after that.

"The pride we have."
Feature Β» #MNUFC supporters are removing Target logos from their jerseys by the hundreds and replacing them with rebel loon insignias. The cause is not rooted in corporate boycott but rather a show of support for immigrants in the Twin Cities.

I assumed that was the trial balloon to see if there would be a reaction to the sponsor on the back. Easy next step to roll it out league wide.

Unlike most leagues, MLS has an unbalanced schedule β some teams simply face tougher slates than others.
So, how much does strength of schedule matter?
Quite a bit, as it turns out.
In MLS, your team's fate might already be decided, writes @aclausen90.bsky.social ‡οΈ
Chancalay looked good in the first half tonight. He's going to be well worth the flyer of a transfer for him.
#MNUFC
That's why #MNUFC need Gene to make the leap this year.
Can't expect Trapp to be as good as he was last year.
Diaz was out getting his Green Card. I bet he plays RB when he's back, but it's really not his position. He's a CB and a good passer when he can get forward.

Padelford did look good. I think part of his problem was that he really isn't a wing back. I always felt he looked fine as a full back under Heath.
And now Padelford can throw the ball a mile!
#MNUFC
Diaz is out working on his Green Card.
I think you're right that they'll defend in the 4-3-3 or 4-4-3 (Pereyra drops into left mid?). But in preseason they were pushing Markanich really high in attack.
Yeboah scores early in the second half. It looks like an accident.
Boxall concedes a penalty late and Callender saves.
#MNUFC wins 1-0

21.02.2026 18:58 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This is what has me feeling nervous about #MNUFC defensively. Last season anytime we played a back 4 we looked very vulnerable. I'm hoping the defensive formation is more phase of play dependent than just a straight up flat 4.
20.02.2026 22:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ASA goals added (g+) radar for Triantis. +0.08 overall with the biggest contributor being interrupting at +0.06
This is the first time I've seen Triantis' g+ radar. I'm not sure you could ask much more from a 6/8 (maybe better passing).

If it's going to work for #MNUFC, this is how it would look. I think we might see a lot of Markanich runs in behind too.
Glad this preview talks about Momo. I think more time in the squad could help him get up to MLS speed of play.
NEW: The 2026 season is the end of MLS as weβve known it as the calendar flip looms. For three CSOs, itβs just another factor at play when building a hopeful contender.
