I’m quite enjoying Mason Mount making me eat my words.

He was absolutely brilliant tonight. Lots of nice ‘first time’ stuff he was doing really sped up our passing.

I also think he makes this system work so much better by essentially being another body in midfield.

I dreamt last night that United fired Ruben Amorim and replaced him with…….wait for it……..Anne Hegerty from The Chase 🙈 FFS 😂

I think Manchester United have officially broken me! Making me dream about The Governess!

Well fuck me, that was predictably drab!

Just don’t have it in them this season, this lot.

If, and that is a bit IF, Amorim is to succeed it will take a couple of windows for his preferred midfielders and wing backs to come in.

The sad thing is, there is a perfectly good 433 in this group 🙈

He wasn’t great again today but not bad either & was miles better than Monday. Looked better after his goal.

He certainly seems like a ‘confidence player’ so hopefully he can carry that confidence into Thursday.

Wasn’t pretty but obviously buzzing with the win!

1st half was pretty concerning. Players looked flat & terrible body language from some.

2nd half, they looked a lot brighter & more energy.

Bruno was excellent today. Thought Mazraoui made a difference by supporting the attack more.

There was an argument recently about J.Fletcher on the bench being a token gesture to keep the academy record going.

Counter argument today of sorts is surely Malacia is taking an academy players place on the bench here?

He’s obviously knuckling down, but he has no future here so what’s the point?

Despite the fact he was an excellent player, remember how physically slight & slender Darren Fletcher actually was?

Admittedly he’s probably slightly heavier now, but look at this picture as a comparison for those wanting JJ Gabriel to play in the first team now!!

I think what that also shows is how good Sesko & Cunha actually are & how a lot of the players from last season, however much they try, aren’t up to the job

I know you believe in your system but not to the point you continue to have 3 CBs mark 1 centre forward when they have given up a body elsewhere on the pitch.

Lack of European action this season took me to Old Trafford last night for the Women’s Champions League.

Some good football on show but spoiled by a high school arriving on 40 minutes & only being fully seated around me by the 57th minute (including the 15 minutes over half time!)

Personally, if I was a manager & in the age of 9 subs, I’d be naming 2 youth players in every squad even if it is for them to go along for the ride & learn a thing or two.

And if you’re winning 4-0, give them a run out in the last 10 minutes.

There’s a bit of a weird argument from some about United’s 1st team squad/youth record & how it feels hollow after this past weekend, calling J.Fletcher’s inclusion a bit of a token gesture.

What an end to the game!

Didn’t deserve to go behind, but I guess we need to find a way to get 2 goals ahead because at the moment it looks like we’ll always concede 1.

Happy with the fight in this team and ok with the draw in the end given the circumstances.

Not sure who is out there at the moment who fits that particular bill, but in my opinion that is the type of player I’d be looking for at LWB rather than a full back or true, wide-forward style winger.

I think we need a winger there but I don’t think it can be another Amad type.

More a ‘functional’ type winger. One that gets up & down, is responsible in his defending but who’s first thought is to attack.

In days gone by, think Park, Valencia, Young, Milner, Moses, etc.

I’ve been thinking about our LWB spot & what we might need there.

I think to progress Amorim’s system we need a winger there rather than a defender.

I’ve heard people say for us to buy Semenyo for that role but as daft as this sounds, he’s too good to play there.
