As a retired I.T. worker, I'm not in the least surprised. There are many household name companies with modern front-ends but where the 'back-end' is decades old & nobody dares touch it, because the original programmers are long gone & there is no documentation & 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

The thing I take from this is she couldn't give a damn about Fritzl's daughter. She had just been struck by the thought that all the prayers she'd been offering up for better grades, nicer hair etc. had probably been a waste of time, because, best-case scenario, God's mailbox was full.

'Culturally Christian' - I read that as she will follow the rituals, even going to Church, folding her hands in prayer etc. but there's no belief behind it, and probably no genuine 'Christian' values either, such as helping others, not being self-righteous, forgiving others, being humble etc.

I think she thought she was 'God's gift' and that all good things that came to her were because she prayed for them. Fritzl's daughter prayed but wasn't helped, so either she was a bad person or God didn't exist. The girl had had no opportunity to be bad, ergo... Our Kemi is very transactional.
