His kind often shout about Christian values and no doubt there are many good folks providing food and shelter to the needy, but they conveniently forget about the Sikh gurdwaras and Muslim mosques etc. that also do good works for their community, regardless of race or religion. Better together.

I suspect Morgan FcSweeney has a lot to do with it. "Go for it, Keir, the focus groups say it plays well with the xenophobes, racists and Reform-adjacent, and we wouldn't want to lose their votes!"

Are there no journalists out there who will sit down with Keir Starmer and ask him WHY he drew the 'red lines' in front of the Single Market and Customs Union in the first place (given these were NEVER on the Brexit ballot paper & were dreamed up by T May) and WHY he is stubbornly sticking to them?

Not content with paying crap wages and allowing the state to make up the difference, now big companies are working on replacing humans altogether, with robotics and AI. Naturally they'll be offshoring their HQs to pay no tax so those still in work will fund the benefits bills of the jobless.

Are Farridge's children monolingual, then? I thought his ex-wife was German?

Indeed. Say the word Untermensch enough times without challenge and will people start thinking it's fine to disappear people. It's already happening in the USA, so why not in Germany again? Or even Britain? Maybe now he can start making gas shower noises again, but not in a hurtful or insulting way?

bsky.app/profile/niki... Maybe the Coat Bath is where you keep your drunken raccoon, between the toilet and the waste bin?

Thanks, will try. I'm currently binge-listening to the audio books of Anthony Horowitz's works. I'd just been working on some Ingleton members of my family tree in Ancestry, retired to bed, only to be taken back to Ingleton by train by Anthony & his detective Daniel Hawthorne read by Rory Kinnear. πŸ™‚

It seems you have to get in and out of the building through the garage, and AI seems particularly obsessed with washbasins and toilets. As Abba so presciently put it, "Water, loo, couldn't escape if I wanted to".

I'm betting half an hour ago somebody in the administration mentioned that they'd just carried out another air strike in Somalia so that word was still in his short-term memory and about to wave bye-bye.

It rather smacks of the ancient Chinese practice of foot-binding, where women's feet would be bent and twisted because men thought tiny feet were sexy. So-called 'pretty' pointy, high-heeled shoes result in ugly, painful feet.

One report said someone took a 200 mile round-trip to see a GP. Was this true? I know GPs & dentists are thin on the ground in the UK these days, but was there really nobody closer?

The last time I was in an NHS hospital (some years ago now) the kindest and most efficient nurse I encountered was an Afro-Carribbean lady who had come over with or just after Windrush. She was about to retire (bad back). Bless all carers, especially those who travel '000s miles to do the job.

Did I not recently hear they have developed a test that is much more accurate than the PSA test?

I saw these a while back and that was my first thought. They'll be vandalised, ripped open for what's inside, stolen for parts, you name it. Also spent 1hr today trying to get my robot vac to see the wifi network which it had mysteriously dropped, and it's 50cm from the router.

Jesus told of a Samaritan who helped the man on the road to Jericho who had been beaten & left for dead when everyone else ignored him. The problem was, the Samaritan was a foreigner & hadn't realised that helping people just isn't culturally Christian. The man should drag himself out of the ditch.

On the 'importing your culture' stuff, that was fine when it was Europeans migrating to the Americas 100-200 years ago? Oh, but those were 'civilised' people, because their skin was white. Got it.

"They are not like us!" has been the rallying cry of every dictator or would-be dictator throughout history. If you can make a person believe their enemy is a lesser being, it makes it much easier to get them to brutalise or kill them.

If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair. But if you're going to Southend-on-Sea, be sure to wear an oak leaf in your hair.

🧡They sell up and pay the tax (less than for non-farm property) and move on with their lives. Someone else buys the land. The risk is the new owners might not farm it, but that risk is there regardless of the tax situation. Methinks the man doth protest too much.

Listening to R4 Farming prog. Protesting farmer "I can't afford the tax". Reporter "You have 7yrs to split between yr kids." Farmer "I might not live that long and anyway my kids might not want to continue farming." πŸ€” So, you're dead. Your kids don't want to farm.🧡
