The problem is that something done in maybe 5 lines in C# takes up an entire page in COBOL. It takes too long, becomes complex and unreadable and is very error-prone.

My code has now grown to a point where implementing new features or fixing bugs becomes a huge hassle.

Yes... no... okay, maybe 10% of my work is COBOL, because I do a lot of cool interop stuff using REST, PInvoke, ...
But my main work is in C# and TypeScript, thankfully.

Nah, my current work is already making me suicidal.
This might actually push me over the edge.
