I podcast about the Amazing Race Canada for #RHAP and hosted the Tomorrow Society Podcast on theme parks. Spend a lot of time on tennis, swimming, Midnight Oil, Survivor, and other competitive reality TV. I love singalong songs. He/him.

That's good to hear! I feel like I'm on an island sometimes with Joffrey's and not loving it. The cold brew was decent, but their hot coffee has kind of a weird taste to it.

Still done with doing a regular podcast - I've jumped in a few times just for fun - did one show last summer and a few recently on this solo trip.

Disneyland Solo Trip Report: Day 3 (No Regrets) - Tomorrow Society Dan Heaton talks about his second and final park day in his sprint through his Disneyland solo trip on the Tomorrow Society Podcast.

It feels weird to even post this today given the chaos out there, but if you're looking for a break, here's the next episode in my Disneyland Solo Trip Report series. tomorrowsociety.com/disneyland-s...

Yeah, that totally makes sense. I think it hit me more afterwards when I wasn't distracted by being at the parks. With that said, I hope you had a great trip!

I underestimated how fun it would be seeing the various #Survivor50 players together. The Christian/Emily/Devens trio is amazing, and they’re on the same tribe with Cirie! The Coach/Ozzy feud resurrected from South Pacific is going to be epic. So many funny moments! Mike White is a blast too. Magic.

I've enjoyed the first two episodes of Australian Survivor, and this cast has a lot of potential. But wow do I miss JLP! It's isn't really about David, who I liked as a player and enjoyed on DONDI. He's doing fine for a new host, but JLP had gotten so good over time. It's too bad. #SurvivorAU

I know that a lot of you are on Letterboxd, and it would be great to connect! I generally post short little reviews of everything I watch, and it's just a fun way to learn about different films. I'm on there as "danheaton". letterboxd.com/danheaton/

Disneyland Solo Trip Report: Day 2 (Blitzing the Parks) - Tomorrow Society Dan Heaton talks about his first park day in his Disneyland solo trip report on Day 2 of this Tomorrow Society Podcast series.

It's time for Day 2 of my Disneyland Solo Trip Report! I'm back with the next part of my podcast miniseries; this time I'm in the parks for a sprint around Disneyland and DCA. I have a lot to cover including 36 attractions and nearly 30,000 steps! tomorrowsociety.com/disneyland-s...

Thanks! It definitely was on my mind as I was traveling; felt a little weird to stress on Lightning Lanes and other tiny details with everything happening.

Me too! I had heard rumors they were putting a hyper coaster in between Wildfire and Powder Keg. That could still happen, but it's surprising to lose a coaster that was still pretty popular. It was a little rough but not nearly on the level of some mine trains. Cool layout too.

Silver Dollar City closing Thunderation roller coaster after 2026 Silver Dollar City announced it will close Thunderation, which opened in 1993 and was considered the park's first bona fide roller coaster.

Wow, this is not great news for me. Thunderation is one of the best mine trains out there, and it's a big surprise to see it closing. I trust that Herschend is going to do something really cool there, but it's still a tough one at Silver Dollar City. www.news-leader.com/story/entert...

It might have been Susan Bonds, who was one of the leads on Indiana Jones. Maybe start there? It was Episode 224. I've covered it on other episodes, but this was the most extensive I think.

Awesome, thanks! This one is kind of just a lark, but it was fun to put it together plus the ones on the way.

It was down for most of the day (on its first day back), but I was able to finally ride the OG Soarin’ Over California today at DCA. First time for me since before Soarin’ Around the World appeared. It’s still the best and basically a perfect ride for me. Glad I got to ride it again!

I spent most of my adult life in a team game.
A team comprised of different nationalities, different backgrounds. Some players were privileged, many were not. Some of my best friends from those times were people whose first language is not English. Those players did not look like me. But I watched as those players built a better life for themselves and passed that better life down to their family by sending earnings to them, buying them houses in their native countries, bringing them to America so they could be together again. That was their dream and baseball was their way.

I've stayed out of speaking on politics because I really don't understand it. I knew I didn't when yards once filled with flags of sports teams or child achievements were replaced with a person's favorite politician. I knew l didn't understand it when I could no longer have civil conversations with long time friends because views were being pushed on me. I've always sat somewhere in the middle and could understand the points raised by both sides but those were personal then and politics is not kept personal or confidential anymore.

I was raised to think different, to BE different, and that used to be a good thing.
"Don't be like everyone else" or "who cares what they think" were words echoed by my parents that gave me the freedom to fail and keep going. Being kind was a quality to strive for and helping others was admirable, especially when no one was watching.

The United States we live in now could not be more divided, but this is a turning point. The images and videos from Minnesota are alarming, on all fronts, to what this country was built on and our core values as a society are under attack. There is right way to do things and a wrong way and the tactics on display for the world to see, the ones designed to create fear and intimidate by recruits of this administration, are the wrong way.

I went over to Instagram and read Kole Calhoun’s full statement and I’ve gotta say: fuck yes Kole Calhoun.

Nice! I saw them first in 1993 and then again a bunch of times in 2001 and 2002 plus the recent tours after their reunion. Amazing shows every time even in the recent ones well into their 60s.

Sad to hear the news about Rob Hirst. Peter was Midnight Oil's face, but Rob was the heart. Co-wrote basically every classic Oils song. Beds Are Burning, The Dead Heart, Read About It, so many more. His drums made them a ferocious live band. Rob was one of a kind. stereogum.com/2485969/midn...
