Judge: That's what I'll do. Prohibit federalization or deployment of any NG troops into Oregon. For all reasons in prior opinion. Deployment of federalized military is ultra vires and contrary to law, violating Title 10, section 12406. I also find it's likely that defendants violate 10th Amendment.

BREAKING: Immergut has *granted* Oregon and California's motion to block the new call-up of Guard troops to Portland. She says this effort to bring CA and TX troops to Oregon is in "direct contravention" of her oroginal order.

I’m horrified by Trump’s order to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. We’re only nine months into a four year term and already the president is trying to invade an American city. If you’re in the Guard, you can and should refuse these orders.

Judge Diane Goodstein placed a hold on DoJ’s request to turn over SC’s voter data. Then her million dollar home burned to the ground.

Coincidence? I think not.

Authorities are investigating this incident as possible arson.

SHE RULES FROM THE BENCH: I grant the plaintiffs motion for a second TRO based on reasons stated in previous order...

Kennedy is back to address harm for Oregon.

He says that Oregon has sovereign interest in what the needs of the state are. People of Oregon have that interest, including whether their own forces can handle law enforcement issues...

Riley: True that soldiers would still be federalized even if still in CA the state. But at least they'd be geographically located in the state...if they're out of state, logistical issue getting them back and under state control if there's an emergency.

Immergut: What's the irreparable harm for CA?

Riley: First is injury to our sovereign rights and police powers. California soldiers are being unwilling participants in a unlawful federal mission....

Immergut: You're an officer of the court. Do you believe this is appropriate way to deal with my order?

Hamilton: I'm not a policy maker

Immergut: You're a lawyer

In response, Hamilton basically argues no geographic limit to federalization of CA guard...

Generally not a good sign when the judge feels compelled to remind you what a lawyer is.
