Saw a thing that was inevitable for the first time today. An AI version of a real historic photograph. Nothing really altered, just an AI generated version of a real picture. Which, of course, automatically allows for the denial that the original picture and the events depicted in it ever happened.
It’s the 75th anniversary of a man in Dundee called David Law creating the “world’s wildest boy”, who lived in the pages of The Beano, and later that same year acquired a stripy jumper which he never again took off – and in 1968 got a dog as disciplined as its owner: Gnasher 🧵
I say this as a man with a grey beard and a beanie hat myself.
When did Tommy Tiernan and Michael Stipe become the same person?
Haunted Book Club story #3 is now online. The Eyes by Edith Wharton. @gavcross.bsky.social reads it, so that you don't have to. But you still can, of course.

Still waiting for that email out of the blue by the way. If you could nudge whoever the unexpected person is, that would be great. Thanks.
In case you missed it, you can still listen to the audiobook version of Ghostwoods Books' "Cthulhu Lives!" cosmic horror anthology, feat. an intro by Leeman Kessler, an afterword by S.T. Joshi, and stories by Tim Dedopulos, Greg Stolze, John Reppion etc.

Albion was the start of me really tumbling down the rabbit hole into reading classic comics rather than just rereading Misty again. I first discovered everyone from The Spider to Janus Stark in there. Highly recommend it.
Yes, I will accept free margarine from Flora as payment for this post.
As a vegetarian who hardly eats any dairy either, I would like to know what they put in Flora vegan margarine which makes me want to start eating it with a spoon. It makes I Can't Believe it's not Butter taste like nothing.

Sadly, they seem to mostly say "don't worry about it, none of it's real and we're all infinite anyway" which isn't actually much help in the flesh and blood realm.
God Almighty, things are awful aren't they? If you can write some words, make some art, play some music, or create anything that makes you and anyone else feel even a tiny bit better for even a second then you should pour some energy into that.

Visiting a disused signal box and rather worried this bell might mysteriously ring. #TheSignalman
Just finished #SmallProphets and loved it.
I reviewed a pink half keyboard, which might seem like a very odd thing at first glance.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here who's offered their congratulations about the British Book Award nom for Nessie. I started to thank people individually, but, ahem, eventually there were too many. Thank you so much, friends and followers!
Managed to slip this into our kids book!
The first original artwork I bought, from Shane!

I remember when the internet would auto spell check things for you. It seemed like it was an obvious step forward. Then that stopped being the case, but you could use Grammarly, which was just a little add on, and that seemed fine, even if slightly less convenient. And then, and then, and THEN.
What if Jabba the Hutt had abs?
