Origin of Names of US States | Indian Affairs
It would appear that the origins of our State names would be well-established facts; however, when an attempt is made to trace these origins, they are found to be quite elusive and controversial. In m...
At dinner, my household was speculatiing on how may other state names come from Native American languages (we're in Massachusetts). I found this great page: www.bia.gov/as-ia/opa/on...
(I then printed the PDF in case a purge is inflicted on the Bureau of Indian Affairs.)

When I woke, my first thought wasn't "but I'm retired" or "Groove Workspace?" I was still trying to figure out the solution, and realized they'd need to have their own Groove Manager server to reset the accounts, because the public facing ones have been gone for a while.

The junk articles made it harder to find the real ones, and the customer was important and frantic. I'd written a lot of those technotes, and edited more, and was a little annoyed that I couldn't remember what they should do in sufficient detail.

I dreamed that I got a support call for Groove Workspace (which I supported over 20 years ago). The technotes were still online, but not searchable, and intermingled with a lot of junk variations in which content had been removed or garbled. (My opinion of AI usage, clearly.)

I can sometimes do it with procioception, if I put fingers on either side of the needle where the hole is. Can't see it worth a damn unaided, though. This is possibly THE most irritating consequence of my age.

Judge temporarily halts mass firings at CFPB, preserves agency data
The order also blocks acting CFPB Director Russ Vought from taking steps to defund the agency.
A judge just blocked Elon Musk and co-president Donald Trump from firing the financial cops at the CFPB who protect consumers from Wall Street scams.
There's power in fighting back.

Diameter seems more intuitively relevant for representing the required amount of stretch. But what does Good Vibrations say?

Also good advice. I'm getting better about this with muscle aches and spasms, and it's one of a few things that's improved my sleep. A single regular ibuprofen is usually fine.

Got my first shingles vaccine today. I've been delaying on this one, because I've heard it's awful. The nurse gave me some unexpected advice: Go do a workout.
3+ hours and 30 minutes of yoga later, I feel fine. This one may be up there with "pre-hydrate" for vaccine tips.

Muscle responses are weird. I just had sudden muscle rebellion while rinsing out a wine bottle; the last inch of turning it over was bitingly nasty in the front of my shoulder. As far as I can figure, it's from repeatedly wringing out a mop above the sink last night (post contractor work).

I hadn't realized how much I missed Twitter - science articles, pictures of foxes, journalists' recommendations, wry observations, and light chat in a mostly friendly scroll. π
