Editing is just realizing all the words you thought were brilliant at 2 AM… were not.

Indeed, I could split my infinitives boldly, but to boldly split them? Now that’s an art.

As a writer, I’m sometimes a benevolent god… other times, I’m a sadistic deity who torments my characters for the amusement of my readers. Either way, my characters should probably start praying.
