Barnwell: Is Nick Sirianni the most scrutinized successful coach in NFL history?
The Eagles' head coach is 56-22 over five seasons, including two trips to the Super Bowl. Yet he's constantly under the microscope. Why?
Yesterday, I wrote about Nick Sirianni, whose resume is arguably the best in modern NFL history through 4+ years and yet somehow can't convince a meaningful amount of people that he's a good coach www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/...

Eagles Fans: Everryone hates Jalen Hurts. A.J. Brown hates everyone. Why does no one hate Nick Sirianni and Kevin Patullo?
Jaelan Phillips: This is the level of happiness I expect to feel when my first child is born next year.

Last year was really hard for me personally so I would like to thank the Eagles for giving me something to look every week, and I am really thankful NFL+ allows me to relive those fond memories whenever I want (and also hate that the internet has become less forever than promised).

The Jalen Carter Rule (upgrading spitting on an opponent from a hefty fine to a 1-game suspension)

Also, like, this "Golden age of Eagles Football" probably ends after this season, especially if A.J. Brown is entering his decline earlier than expected.

And, like, that's not even necessarily just Patullo. It's the mismatched offensive philosophy of limiting turnovers with a roster (and financial resources) designed to overwhelm defenses by air and by ground.

I remember vultures circled around Hurts in 2023 as well. That said, people like Jonny Page at @bleedgreennation.bsky.social have convinced me that a lot the issues have to do with offensive design and play-calling which the coaches could, you know, just fix, because they are in charge here.

Ugh. I hate every bit of this. Even despite the deluge of injuries this season Lane Johnson remained the brightest spot on an offensive line that has struggled to replicate his form from a year ago. Fred Johnson has proven cromulent, but Lane Johnson is the best at his position and a future HoFer.

All the complaining and social media posting has really done a clever job of disguising either, a). A.J. Brown's pre-season hamstring injury never got better and he is playing this season at far less than 100%, or b). he's suddenly washed at age 28.

Eagles ended up winning the division by 4 games in 2017 but yeah, at least Dallas and Washington were middling enough to hover around .500. I'm not even sure Dallas gets there because even if they beat the Eagles by spamming passes to Adoree', they still have to deal with KC, DET, MIN, and LAC.

I don't know when exactly they'd be able to mathematically clinch, but I don't think the Eagles even dominated the division this much in 2017. This is nearing 2004 levels if they can pull off the win at Dallas next week.

Eagles are 8-2 with a chance to wrap up the NFC East next week by sweeping the Cowboys. It's been ass ugly at times, but I'll take 8-2 and a playoff berth as defending Super Bowl champs.

Can't wait for everyone to spend a week discoursing that awful DPI call the same way they do all the missed false starts on the tush push! Should the NFL ban the forward pass because it's too difficult to officiate?

The wild part about this Eagles defensive run is they are not even just feasting on turnovers like they did the back-end of last season. They just straight up bullied the Packers and the Lions.

So that's why the Eagles were comfortable going for it

Did Dan Campbell just punt the game away? Fangio's got that entire offense and offensive coaching staff in a blender.

Good news for the Eagles: Next week their offense has a chance to get right by playing the Cowboys defense.
Bad news for the Eagles: Next week their defense is playing an offense that Week 1 built a successful gameplan around spamming passes in the general direction of Adoree' Jackson.

Probably not a TD. Push tush if Jurgens can handle it.

Always felt the Eagles needed to target Kylen Granson more to get this offense going

Bad news: The Lions found Adoree' Jackson again and it resulted in a touchdown.
Good news: Jameson Williams humped the goalpost and it resulted in a missed PAT.
