Not to mention slavery has existed all throughout American history, including today in our prison system. You see, our founding fathers didn’t want freedom for all. They wanted freedom for white private business ventures to own slaves.

On this day 2 and a half centuries ago the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philly. We wanted to secede from the tyranny of the British crown. 1 war later and we were bestowed freedom. However, there’s a caveat. We’re now under tyranny of the duopoly and the top 1%.

What's the difference?

The Philly Pirate Party supports AFSCME in their protests for better wages and benefits. No one and we mean no one deserves to work more for less.

Fast forward almost a century later we've won birthright citizenship. Fast forward a century and a half later we now have a conservative U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of Trump undoing birthright citizenship. The Philly Pirate Party fights for birthright citizenship.

Philly is one of the oldest cities in the USA. We've fought for our rights to bear arms (guns), freedom of speech, privacy, states' rights, fair trials, and keeping soldiers out of your private home, and that's just towards the beginning of its history.

Remember this if you have a day off because of Juneteenth. It can happen to anyone. Don't think for a second it can't happen to you. Today should be a day to band together for the end of the very archaic practice of incarceration within our public institutions.

The Philly Pirate Party wants everyone to remember on Juneteenth that slavery isn't completely abolished. In our penal systems, incarcerated individuals make sweat shop wages or even nothing at all. Meanwhile companies sells products made from slave labor at exorbitant prices.

In related news, asylum seeker Edwin Nicolas Sanches Pachon is still locked up in a Philly ICE detention center. This runs counter to what the Philly Pirate Party's beliefs.

Despite Los Angeles being on the complete other side of the country, we support the LA protests against ICE and any other police force designed to crack down on dissidents.
