“Part of the strategy of this jihadist movement is to base its infrastructure of terror, let’s say missiles, long-range missiles, in civilian surroundings.”
Israeli President Isaac Herzog told CNN when asked about the strike on a girls’ elementary school in southern Iran that, according to Iranian media, has killed 165 people, most of them girls aged 7 to 12.
He said he was “trying to verify” the reports but did not provide further details.
GeoConfirmed, an OSINT group that verifies footage through geolocation, says the destroyed school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, was located near an IRGC naval base that was also struck in the same wave of airstrikes.
The group says there is no evidence the explosion was caused by a failed IRGC missile launch, and that the more plausible explanation, based on available evidence, is that the school was hit during the broader strikes on the base.

@GeoConfirmed
GeoConfirmed Iran.
Statement regarding our posts about the bombing of a girls’ elementary school reportedly resulting in the deaths of over 100 girls.
Because many readers still misunderstand our posts or how geolocation verification works, I will explain this as simply as possible.
1) The girls’ school was located next to a military base and according to multiple sources even within the perimeter of that base.
However, this does not make it a legitimate target under the Law of Armed Conflict, even if it was within the premises.
The school was not in Pakistan or Afghanistan, as some claims suggest. (because the location is GeoConfirmed)
The footage is not old.
In Iran, schools are open Saturday through Thursday. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workweek_and_weekend).
Fact: The school, located in Minab, Hormozgan Province, Iran, was destroyed, based on the footage.

2) The claim that the explosion was caused by a failed IRGC missile launch has no supporting evidence, at this time (!).
The widely circulated footage used to support this theory originates from a location approximately 1,300 km away from the school.
It is impossible that a missile failure visible there caused the bombing at such a distance.
At this moment, there is no proof that a failed missile launch caused the incident.
(See below or https://x.com/GeoConfirmed/status/2027859937842393278)

Using logic.
Given the school’s position, next to and possibly integrated into a military facility, the more logical explanation is that the school was mistakenly targeted during an attack on the base.
A thorough investigation is required to confirm this assessment, or additional verifiable evidence must emerge to support alternative claims.
When conducting analyses, always consider the principle of "Occam’s Razor" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor):
"When presented with competing hypotheses about the same prediction and both hypotheses have equal explanatory power, one should prefer the hypothesis that requires the fewest assumptions."
In this case, the only “evidence” for the failed IRGC missile launch claim has been proven false.
Therefore, there is currently no credible evidence supporting that theory.
Reminder:
OSINT, and reporting (journalism) in general, is based on the information available at the time an investigation is conducted. Therefore, analyses may change as new footage or evidence emerges.

🇮🇷 Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responds to President Trump’s warning that Iran better not retaliate or face force never seen before.
Araghchi said: “We are defending ourselves. And we have every legitimate right to defend ourselves. What the United States is doing is an act of aggression. What we are doing is an act of self-defense. There are huge differences between these two.
So one should tell the President of the United States: do not attack, do not make any aggression against another country. But nobody can tell us that we don’t have any right to defend ourselves. We are defending ourselves, whatever it takes.”

Murdoch, Rinehart, Stokes hold and set the media narratives.
Lily-livered governments toe the ile to avoid negative repercussions. For Labor, negative consequences follow anyway. They would be better off taking the high moral, ethical road and to tell the billionaires to go jump.

Breaking: AG Michelle Rowland has announced today’s Standing Council of Attorneys-General (SCAG) will focus on one type of racism, Antisemitism.
I guess they can’t discuss other forms of racism when Jillian Segal, tied to extremist group Advance, is also attending.🙄 #auspol

US is way behind Australia for adoption of solar. My own rooftop solar PV system is around 15 years old and paid for itself very quickly. Every year I get free energy from the sun. Same with this example. Free from year 5, if she had had to pay for it, is still a pretty good deal.

'The most toxic by-election in British history: a masterclass in how diversity and multiculturalism have failed.'
@PatrickChristys gives a breakdown of the controversial campaigns in the Gorton and Denton by-election, accusing the Greens of 'shamelessly pandering' to Muslims.
A picture of Patrick Christys in a GB News studio.
GB News ran a piece about the Greens "shamelessly pandering to Muslims"
Imagine any other broadcasting channel running a piece suggesting "shamelessly pandering to Jews"
That person would be kicked off the air quite rightly, within hours, but say it about Muslims and that's okay...
Apparently🤷♀️

It's a total mystery why Muslims don't want to vote for the parties that tell them they aren't wanted in Britain, and that they should "go back to where they come from"

Reform believe they're the "silent" majority
They can't compute that their brand of divisive, blame-your-neighbour politics doesn't wash when bots can't vote!
They are blaming Muslims and Commonwealth citizens for their G&D loss
But they also lost in 97% White British, 0.3% Muslim, Caerphilly🤷♀️

The batteries program is brilliant & so are the low interest loans programs that go with it.
Not just saving that household money but bringing down the cost of peak power for all.
Would love to see some EVs showcased at this time given petrol prices about to get nasty.

Just another example of @albomp short-sightedness regarding Australian sovereignty.
