Editing, a comp sci degree and writing really accentuate to you how much of our world is built around small manipulations of the audience and that everything is malleable and human perception is exceptionally inaccurate and woefully easy to manipulate and that what feels right often isn't "real."

Editing is sometimes moving the space between audio back and forth a frame or two and relistening to make sure the break in sentences sounds natural by making it not natural.

I think people believe the point of progressive politics is to try to convince malicious, bad-faith bigots to not be violent, instead of defanging their movements and making them politically irrelevant.
