Even though he knew I was leaving academia, Oliver was kind enough to include me in this grant. He used it to help fund a trans student at UCI who was being abused by the faculty there. The work was GOOD. The NSF's capitulation here is shameful and cowardly. The loss of this work is heartbreaking.

Our team (a collaboration across four universities) was researching and creating a trans-centered augmented reality face filter app. But in today’s anti-trans, anti-science political climate, the NSF abruptly cut our funding before we could finish it.
