Yeah I did the same thing a while ago and I work in the finance world, for what my credentials are worth. Rates should be higher, arguably, but they should not be cut further, and I think Trump will pressure the fed to lower them.

That is a perfectly valid reason to lock in a rate via refi. If you think that something will go wrong, you don’t want to be in the situation where your rate is floating. There are other factors but this is rational behavior.
