Maybe so, I just don't want to be stuck with dead weights on ridiculous contracts like we have had in the last few years. Like I said though, time will tell whether it was a good decision or not.

If the players you want are too expensive/unobtainable, and any other available player would unlikely be an improvement, then signing someone else is a risk. More often than not January players are overpriced and underused.

At the same time it can be a big risk panic buying players. In January 2020 we signed JKA, Poveda, and Caprile none of whom contributed to the promotion that season and left us €30m+ in transfer debt.

Obviously depends on if we go up to see whether it was a good decision or not.

I think James and Bogle still put in the effort to keep it in after a heavy touch most of the time; I'm not sure Piroe finds himself in those situations quite as often.

Sometimes it'd be nice if our forwards this season would chase these kinds of heavy touches a bit better. There's been a few occasions where it feels like Joseph, Aaronson, or Gnonto has had a bad touch and just watched the ball roll out of play instead of trying to keep it in. #lufc

Can't help but feel like we're going to have a real dip in form at some point soon, almost every team every season does. Hoping that if/whenever it comes we're comfortably in the top 2 as there some tough fixtures at the end of February.

Lovely read. Being from Leeds I always find it interesting what the opinion of the city is from people who aren't from Leeds, especially when they're not from the UK. It's easy to forget sometimes how beneficial having a widespread fanbase can be for the city's exposure, tourism, and growth...

Mixed I guess, I do think that we'll get promoted but not comfortably and I reckon Sheffield United will stay top for most of the season. Even they slip up though and have a hard run of games coming up so who knows just yet...
