Any idea if msu is gonna release a formal depth chart at some point? Dantonio used to release one prior to game 1 and I felt like that really helped fans get to know the team prior to the season starting

Trey Fort may begin the season as the starting 2-guard. If he's still the starter in March, it means the season was a failure
Bonus: Ok.This has gone on long enough. Graham. Kalin Lucas won big ten POY once. Not twice. Once. One time. You dont need Jason to play Hoff so you can look it up. Thank you

2. This show has mentioned Tim Staudt dozens of times. But the fact that 1000+ shows in Jason drops the "I witnessed Staudt hotbox his family" story for the first time is why you guys are amazing

1. It took J Batt like a week to do something about the Spartan Stadium experience. If this ends up being a noticeable improvement, it'll raise the question of what the hell Haller and Beekman were doing all these years

If losing a solid transfer for the season is enough to lower MSU out of real contention, it means they didn't do enough building the roster. It wasn't that long ago where a team lost a 15ppg scorer in Langford and still won the big ten/made the final four. Losing Glenn shouldn't change expectations

This building is already under construction and is designed to replace IM West. And I agree: IM West needed to be replaced several decades ago

Does J Batt have any power to send Will Tieman packing? Wouldn't any outsider agree that it's an embarrassment that we don't have an actual professional calling our men's basketball games? I know he owns the network but my god, use a different network or something

Graham used to regularly imply that the rev sharing would make NIL drastically less important and create a more level playing field. Now he says the big schools won't let things be more financially even. What made you change your opinion, especially when your current one has always seemed obvious?

You've suggested that Izzo was anywhere from OK with to supportive of Haller being fired. Any idea of how Jonathan Smith felt about it before and after it went down?

While at the breakfast table this morning, one of my not-yet-two-years-old daughters randomly exclaimed "Peacock" akin to Tony D. My other daughter and I then took turns saying it back and forth for several minutes. How do you feel about the fact that you reach so many generations of listeners?

If MSU ends up being a shooting guard away from contention and people are upset by it, you know your "well they tried" rebuttal wont be a valid excuse, right? I know Izzo didn't try when they shoulda replaced Sissoko and Mark D sorta stopped trying, but that doesnt make it a reasonable excuse now

2. As it stands, this looks like a failed portal cycle. If it ends up being the case, that'd be 3 failures in 4 portal cycles and 5 of 6 seasons being mediocre at best. We gotta let it play out but if it turns out as I fear, it's 100% reasonable to question the direction of the program under Izzo
19.05.2025 13:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
1. Last season was a ton of fun, but let's be real: it was anywhere from Izzo's 12th-15th best team, and was only that good because a freshman who was supposed to be a role player ended up being a pro. It's certainly doesn't exempt Izzo from skepticism relating to roster building/portal additions

If you're the AD at a place like MSU and football doesn't have the necessary funds to be competitive, it doesn't matter what else you've done: you're not a good AD

Losing to Rutgers 41-14 at home, going 5-7, and finishing 16th in the conference in recruiting means either the coaches were/are incompetent or the program didn't have enough money to field a competitive roster. Let's hope it was just the latter and it can be fixed with a new AD

After your article yesterday we now know 1) he didn't, 2) you knew he didn't, and 3) you knew the reasons why he didn't. In light of those 3 truths, how do you respond to what now appears to be the knowingly false narratives you pushed on this show regarding Haller over the past year-plus? (2/2)
02.05.2025 11:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
You've been accused several times in the past of being an Alan Haller sympathizer. You've denied this repeatedly. You've also repeatedly suggested that Haller had what he needed to be competitive in the NIL space in order to build a winner in football (1/2)

A week ago you put MSU's chances of getting a headline transfer at 55-60%. What would you say it is now? And if they fail to secure one, would you agree that'd be unacceptable? Remember who you're covering when you answer: this program is closer to Kentucky and Kansas than it is to Iowa

near 50/50 that MSU rolls into next year with Kur Teng or Trey Fort in the starting lineup?! Are you effing serious?! Off a big ten title season?! With Tom effing Izzo?! When there's apparently real NIL available?! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! Holy crap, sound every alarm if that happens

One of my favorite things Couch does is when he says something MASSIVE and then just moves on as if he was talking about the nice weather outside. Case in point: on Fridays show, Graham drops that he thinks there's a 55-60% chance msu gets a headliner transfer. Huh? What?! You think (1/2)

A week ago you alluded to the fact that msu is in on some high-level transfers and seemed to think their chances of landing one is relatively good. Would you say your confidence in MSU getting one of these guys is higher, lower, or the same as it was a week ago? Include Darius Adams in this as well

Darius Adams is the guy Couch has been alluding to as MSU's major target. Would be a massive get

(2 of 2) Graham: can you please stop acting like there was only one year where it was obvious they needed a center and they went with sissoko instead? Like is your memory that bad? I don't get it, you covered those teams

Timeline time. 2021: Izzo brings in Walker. Nice job. 2022: everyone who had ever seen him play knew Sissoko couldn't start at center on a big ten contender. Izzo ignored the portal. Sissoko's terrible. 2023: sissoko's still here. Izzo inexplicably still refused the portal. Sissoko's terrible again

Graham keeps implying that NIL will stop being a significant source of player income once rev sharing begins. Why would it go away? Doesnt it just mean there will be a bigger pot of money? Do you really think, say, Ohio St football will stop asking for NIL money and accept a more even playing field?

1. This group did everything that was asked of them. Great season
2. Gotta get bigger at basically every position if Izzo's gonna get his 2nd
3. assuming Jase leaves, msu'll be very mediocre next year unless they get a real scorer with some size out of the portal

I've always feared the season will end on an Akins stinker game. It still might happen, but at least now we can definitively say the season goes on because he stepped up like a senior should.

3. With Zapala over the last several games showing why he was at Longwood a year ago and with Booker being unable to play basketball at a high major level, Kohler has become the most essential player on the team other than Richardson. Can't have stupid fouls like we saw vs wisconsin
