My uncle, a farmer, used to have $5K in his pocket back in the 1960s, 'in case he wanted to buy a car or a tractor or some cows.' I've known lots of folks to carry lots of money quite casually over the years.

Folks freaking out over Kristi Noem having over $3K in cash in her purse should understand that this isn't that unusual for Rich People.

It's a far cry from my uncle who used to have $5K in his pocket in the 1960s "in case he wanted to buy a car" which would be around $40K today.

In 2004ish, when I lived in the Greater Detroit Area, they closed a plant in Ypsilanti, replacing it with one in Mexico. Our Mexican lawn crew quit and went to work at the new plant; guys that were fired in Ypsi took over. It was surreal.

A couple of things ...
First, I'm quite happy that I took the money from our investments in February to do the work planned this year.

Second, the Dow has not reached the level it was at this time last year (any minute now, though), so it's going to be a while before I panic.

Based on this morning's news reports, they're turning that job over to the military. Fun times.

So they're trying to say that they will make up the revenue from cutting taxes on Americans, by raising taxes on imported goods. Americans will be able to have lower costs as long as they don't buy imported goods.

Such as, but not limited to, coffee, tropical fruits, rice, chocolate...
