It has already been converted in my page. I'm glad they're replacing GIFs, it's such a shit format

You can actually already see it in action! I've noticed it on my page, GIFs have been converted to both MP4 and WebM, with AVIF used for the cover.

It's a video tag without controls, but there is a custom pause button.

This is such a relief for those of us who make store page assets!

The game shown is also a good example of additive design: keep adding stuff, hoping it'll make the game good/interesting. Or even worse, you do it selfishly to learn things

Subtractive design is much harder and not the default for most devs
